Back Again!!!

Well, I bought another Z as I tired of the Vette again.

I must admit, I love this little car. Handling is superb.

Just a quick question. Do those of you that have the Sport Package constantly scrape the lower front spoiler?

I have been scraping constantly. I spoke to my parts department and they said the part is roughly $400. Seems awfully expensive for that little front spoiler, but I want to buy an extra one just in case.

Welcome back :tiphat:
Mine was always getting scraped so I just took it off

Scrapes all the time. The price is much lower on Courtesy Parts: $211.17

Once you've drilled out the rivets to remove the old one, just install the new one with some nuts and bolts.

hah, welcome back

Jeffblue 07-13-2010 04:29 PM

yea it scrapes, but who cares, its matte plastic with no finish. If it gets scraggly i'll take it off, sand it down, and put it back on.

DIY Here: http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...r-removal.html

I actually managed to rip mine off, so it just stays off...

Welcome back!

Yea, it not a big deal you would hardly notice it gone.

I just reread back through your "farewell" thread from last year.

So looking back to your decision to get rid of your first Z, and then again to your decision to come back:

- You noted the power difference between the vette and the Z. Was it that you were just not able to get everything out of the vette as a DD as compared to the Z?

- Was your decision purely vehicle oriented or were there financial variables at play?

- Under what circumstances would you have stuck with the vette, or never left the Z?

- Knowing what you know now, would you have left the Z in the first place? Would you have chosen a different car than the vette to upgrade to?

See Matt's questions... if you answer correctly we'll accept you back... if not....

j/k! welcome back to the Z site!

It's been a couple years since I sold it but from what I remember the chin spoiler on my C6 scraped a lot more often then my Z.

chuckd05 07-14-2010 12:13 AM

I have one that I ordered but have decided to to install ( for the second time ) ....

pm if you are interested in it... 125 shipped

I'd rather the chin spoiler scrape than the bottom of the bummer. If you hear it scrape, just pretend/imagine that it's protecting your front bumper so you can be extra careful.

To answer your questions, I will go in order:
- The Vette is a great DD. I have had so many Vettes and 911s and I kind of get a little sick of them. The Vette interior is hard to live with day-to-day and the Z is really put together well for DD.
- I tend to change cars frequently. It is my 1 vice in life. Financially, I am fairly well-off so this was not the complete motivating factor. But realistically, times are tough for mostly everyone, and I have not been immune to this fact.
- I really like the Z. While not perfect (road noise, blind spots, etc...) it is a great DD and an awfully fun car for the $$$.
