Unfortunately not my friend. Between monies and trying to get time off its not feasible. Canadian peso hurts my travels. |
40 year old here on my 3rd generation Z car.
Looking at the numbers, seems I'm too old to be driving a Z. 😞 |

35 years old, it's my first sports car.
I am really thanksful to Nissan that I can enjoy this good performance-to-price ratio on 370Z. Sent from my XT1565 using Tapatalk |

48 here, with quite the resume of performance cars over the last 30 years.
For the younger folks; good on you for getting a 'real' car early on. Us old farts learned to drive in cars where a lap belt on a bench seat was pretty much the safety bit in the car; drum brakes, manual rack steering, gear select on the steering column, a radio - if you optioned for it, and all wrapped in 3+ tons of pig-iron... It taught us that we were responsible for piloting a marginally controlled missile at 70+ mph, and the car did nothing to save us (or the people around us). So we learned to actually drive. Now-a-days cars are full of electro-nannies that do everything for you, gizmos that you can play with, and 37 airbags to save you - just so you don't actually have to drive the car... And that's making for some ridiculously bad drivers out there. The 'Zed' is trying to remain that 'true driving car' with a minimum of things to do the work for the driver... So, yeah - good on you for getting a real car early on. You'll live longer on the highway. ;) |
240 Vs 370
I had the first 1970 Red 240 Z sold in my state (Tennessee) in late 1969.........Just turned 72 last Sunday and got a new Red Z......This time just to drive for fun....... compared the 370 I can tell you for sure that the 240Z was a piece of $hit...........can not believe how far these cars have come. I sold a 1966 427 Vette to get my first Z because I was going to graduate school in Atlanta and had just gotten married. My wife (yes same wife) loved the 240 and she loves the 370, and agrees with me about what a difference there is. The second week I had the 240Z we drove to Atlanta to find a place to live and while I was sitting at a big intersection red light an elderly woman hit us from behind and knocked us thru the intersection. I was lucky because in those days there was a huge Zcar dealer in Atlanta called BRE DATSUN............They worked on racing Z cars........They fixed my car just like new and I got a lot of racing stuff put on the 240. The window price on the 240 when I got it was $3,300.00.........Four yrs later when I sold it I got $6,700.00 for it. The 240 had no acceleration but was a hell of a top end car. Had a lot of fun in that car. I had the BRE DATSUN folks fixed my car I had them take the DATSUN emblems on the sides off (they were in script writing) and put them back in reverse ........(SUN DAT)........the Zs were so new nobody knew what the hell they were...........lol. I had so much fun when people would cum up to me when I was getting gas etc.............they would ask me, what the heck is that ? I told them all kinds of things.......

Age is irrelevant...I am not my age...I play video games every day -working on bloodborne right now, work out 6 days a week (still weight what I did in college) , work on cars daily, swear like a sailor, listen to alternative rock, look 35 act 25....but I am 50. I know guys who are 30 who look and act older than me ...you get old when you get serious and care about everything...fug age.

it doesn't mean to be irresponsible with money and be a total dummy, but means to enjoy everyday, laugh at yourself, take care of yourself and most importantly, have fun. And lots of it. I dread the day I get "old". It hopefully won't happen until I'm 80. :D |
51 and lovin my second 370z NISMO
