Default 370Z Cons?

So as I posted, I am considering (seriously) a 370Z touring auto w/sport and nav to replace my 1991 NSX auto.

From my test drive, I noticed the funny sound of the turn signal and the bottom hinged accelerator pedal. It had very linear acceleration, but so does the NSX. Nothing else seemed bad to me coming from the NSX, but my test drive in the roadster may have hidden some road noise (with aftermarket exhaust, the NSX is pretty loud at highway speeds as well).

What do longer term owners think are cons or felt the need to change?

LOL, but on a serious note, these aluminum doors should fare a lot better than my Evo's aluminum doors - they actually start to warp because of the door handle placement. These shouldn't ever have that problem.

I've had no issues, really, but I've only owned it since late April. Some folks mention issues with oil temps, road noise, and clutch in the manual. Take a quick search around. Most people are generally happy with their Z's.

No need for that nonsense:

Also, the mention of flimsy aluminum doors.

My question is what's wrong with the doors? I was glad to learn they were aluminum. Lighter weight, no rust, and I do not see where they come across as flimsy. My doors on my 2010 370Z Roadster feel as solid as could be. I'm very happy with them. Not to trash the Miata, it's a sharp little car, but our doors are so much more beautiful than the Miata's. To me, tthey really contribute to the overall style appeal of the 370Z.

I have had my Z since November last year, and have almost 8k miles on it. I absolutely love her, but I do have 3 complaints:

1. The paint chips insanely easily. Take a small rock to the hood and chances are good a chip happens. My POS Chevy Aveo daily driver chips less.

2. The lights for the AC and Climate control are on the dash below the dials. You have to bend your neck down to see if they are on. Yea... pretty picky, but in an otherwise excellent interior, this is the one stupid thing.

3. Oil Tempature is high. I have not tracked the car, but this summer on long drives the oil temp is 230-240 with the cruise control set at 80. I personally would like to see it 20 degrees less. Looks like a small oil cooler is in my future.

The NSX has some of the best paint ever, and its nose chips quite a bit. I think it is just due to having a low, angled nose - easy target for rocks.

What isn't wrong with the 370z's door should be the question. They just don't thud when you close them, which must mean they are flimsy and weak. Personally if I would do it all over again I would never buy the Z because the build quality of the door just is subpar.

See this thread for more reasons why.

After I bought my house I realized I had hollow core doors instead of solid doors. When I go to slam my doors during an argument the same level of drama just isn't there.

I think I'm going to return my house.

If you get a hard on for solid doors, go buy a Mercedes G Wagen. Those have some fantastic doors.

General Washington is angry that you would suggest his car has "cons."
