370Z NISMO Contest was Fixed
 

Hello Everyone,

The 370Z NISMO contest was fixed!!! On Memorial Day the contest database crashed!. When it came up for a few days it told everyone that they were number one for the contest. A few days later the standing were fixed but some peoples' standings were increase by a few hundred. I had a standing of 721 before the database crashed and after it was supposed to fixed, I went to 1321! Also the number of contestants went from 50,000 to 65,000! I contacted the people who were running the contest and they blew me off. I wrote them that their contest was no longer accurate and where did 15,000 people magically appear from?
I contacted Nissan and the people from the Z Convention and everyone blew me off. A relative of someone who works for Nissan probably won the NISMO!! How can this be considered a legitimate contest??

This past Memorial Day weekend the Nissan 370Z NISMO contest website had issues,
370Z Sports Car Enthusiast Challenge & Sweepstakes. First, the site was difficult to get into, you would enter your e-mail address and the site did nothing. Finally, the website let me in, I entered my e-mail address and answered all three questions correctly. The website then proceeded to give my ranking and it said it was number 1 out of 1 contestants??? How can that be??? Last week I was 700 out of 50,000 contestants. I sent an e-mail to the NISMO contest website. I had no response!!
Today, June 2nd I went on the NISMO website,370Z Sports Car Enthusiast Challenge & Sweepstakes, entered my e-mail address and answered all three question correctly and received a ranking of 1300??? How can that be!!! I was 700 last week!!!! And to top it off the two ranking people listed
as number 1 and 2 had 341 questions correct out of 171 questions and 221 questions correct out of 120 questions??? Also the website said there were 45,000 contestants? How can that be, last week there were 50,000 contestants. The database got corrupt over the Memorial day weekend!!!

Memorial Day? Today, June 2nd? WTF are you posting from a hot tub time machine?

What difference does it make if you were contestant 1 or 50,000? It's a random drawing.

It's like last week when I got lucky and won a free t-shirt. Then I bought some Powerball Lotto tickets and I was convinced that my good luck the week before meant I'd definitely win the Powerball. Hmmm, didn't work out though.

What is this garbage about ranking in a sweepstakes? What do you think the difference would be between someone at 700 and someone at 701? Do you really think those numbers mean anything?

As of the 5th they are still sending out emails saying that you have not logged in in 7 days, please log in to help your chances of winning........The promotion ended on the 28th of June and when you click on the link it says sorry the promotion has ended, no place can you see whom the winners are or if they did the drawings yet....lol

It's possible that a few words come to mind when reading the postings pertaining to this "contest"...

Poorly run
Terrible execution
Ambiguous circumstances
Sh*tty followup
Sore losers (who already drive a Z for godssakes)


However "fixed" doesn't really factor in. :icon14:

First, I have to tell the OP, you're fighting a losing battle. No one is going to listen to your complaints about not winning the contest, because you are a biased party. Sorry, man. I lost too, but I'm ok with it.


Second... The more entries into a lottery drawing, obviously, the higher your chances of winning (see NBA draft lottery). This isn't hard to figure out.


Third... The contest ran thru MEMORIAL day... Yes, we know that Independence day just happened. But, we are also aware that the contest ended on June 28th... so the chances of Independence day being the day that the database corrupted, and skewed the results, is slim. Memorial day, however, was right in the middle of the contest (like the OP described) and allowed him (and everyone else in the contest) to log back in, and answer the trivia questions.

30Z owners have such 370Z lust.......I see it every time I pass one on the road.

Winner is randomly selected so being 500th or 50,000th doesn't make any difference. Sorry that you didn't win. Maybe you'll be lucky next time.

this^^ i don't understand why you are complaining? the chances of winning a national contest like this is so low you probably have a better chance of spending a week on the moon at some point in your life

I don't think someone could honestly expect to get sympathy posting on a forum about how they lost a national contest.

they havent announced a winner yet right? i had like 150 entries from answering questions... because if you got all 3 right you got a 4th entry per day... i only missed a handful of questions and most of them came back up again and i remember what the right answer was....


but yeah the standing really dont matter too much.... i mean in theory the higher you rank the more entries you have so i guess that matters... but its not like the person who was ranked #1 gets the car... they just have better odds..


i found out about this late and played everynight after i found out about it.... i think i was like 4300 out of 68,000 the last time i checked riight before it ended

If you want to quote rules for the contests, maybe you so read the part below about technical failures! There was definitely a technical failure when the database crashed!
I am not a sore loser. I am tired of accepting things that are F**ked up in this country and no one accepting accountability. Everything done in this country lately is a big mistake!!! I live on the Gulf of Mexico! A BIG MISTAKE! My friend just came back from Iraq missing both legs! BIG MISTAKE!! Let us lay back and take it up the a__!! WTF does any of that have to do with a stupid contest?

Is this guy serious?

How do you know the db had crashed? And even if it did there's no doubt they would have a back up so I would imagine that any entries submitted while they were restoring the DB would have been lost but none of the old data that had been submitted and saved already.

However, I know of fixing in another contest similar to this with a several thousand dollar prize. You might be right. You might be wrong. You don't have anyway to prove anything though.
