One of the reasons I suggested the 400zx is to push the Z into their "middle sportscar", which would be one step behind the GTR in terms of performance.

This would then allow an open spot for a very entry level sportscar with a USABLE back seat, aka a rebirth of the silvia/240sx. The Maxima and Altima just seem pointless to keep in the Nissan fleet so they should just merge the two. Then with the 240sx revive they can offer a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder and a turbo 4 cylinder for those wanting more performance. This, I feel, would once again put Nissan as the leader of "fun" for the Japanese car companies,

In addition they could offer the 400zx in an NA version for those who don't want or afford the turbos. If Nissan also wanted to start switching to hybrid technology the 400zx and 240sx could have hybrid options as well. To be honest I'm just throwing some ideas out there.

Wolf, your only thinking in terms of performance. Nissan has other market segments, that it must cater to, combining the Max & Alt together would be a big mistake.

I'm thinking in terms of performance because... to be honest... what other Japanese car company really makes a true sports car anymore that actually has interest and is fun to drive (at least for me)?

And why not roll the altima and maxima together? If you would humor me, take a look at Infiniti. I read that 50% of their sales come from the G-series. As far as I'm concerned they only have one car that's the "G platform". Actually why not just scrap Infiniti altogether and roll them into one car company: Nissan. Just my $.02.
