Permatex High Temp Thread Sealant, Slow to Cure?
Does anyone have experience with Permatex High Temp Thread Sealant? I used some on a few fittings about 5 days ago and the stuff still hasn't really cured. I put the fittings back in their plastic bags/containers after sealing them, so the airflow has definitely been poor. I'm a little frazzled since the sealant hasn't set up yet though. My next step is to bake them at 170F in the oven to see if that helps the curing. I followed the instructions of kneading the tube before use. Also, the data sheet suggests that different metals will cause the material to cure differently...some needing a special primer. I'm using aluminum. WTF?
Any thoughts?
