soo, im trading my SR20DET 240sx for a 370 tomorrow
Hi, new here. just wondering if im making a mistake or not. i've put a LOT of blood, sweat, and tears into my 240sx and just dont want to trade it out for a car im not going to enjoy driving as much as i do my 240. i have an SR20DET Redtop motor swap and quite a few other things done to it. i just need something reliable (considering my 240 needs constant attention :/) and very fun to drive and hopefully as fast as my 240. i know im not going to hear that turbo spool like im used to, but i think i can get used to that. i just wanted some other 370z owners opinions that may have been in the same spot im in now and was wondering if they could help. thanks in advace.

Welcome to the fourms!
If your wondering if it would be faster, well that depends how much power ur 240 is putting down haha. The 370z is a very fun and reliable car. Compared to a 240 it is probably more tame and i dont think it will drive the same. Its hard trading up a car where u put in alot of work into, but the 370z is a great, fun, and fast car and im sure everyone here agrees. I hope you make the right decision. How bought some pics of the 240?

PICS!! This is my old S13. I put a lot of blood, sweat, tears, money into it and miss it dearly.
HOWEVER, the Z is just... WHOA. I love the Z. The 240 is can be fast and fun, but I have just as much fun with the Z. The Z feels much more refined as opposed to tuned. Even when you do tune the Z, it feels like it came from the factory 'tuned'. It is more reliable and 'plush', but at the same time, it can be raw; but it is a refined raw. You really do get the feeling you are driving a car that is similar to a Porsche. As stated earlier, test drive the Z, but when you do imagine what mods will do for it *(suspension offers a huge improvement in looks and handling; exhaust is also a major mod for power and sound). I only have different wheels and coil overs now and it feels like a much more focused sports car. I will always love and have a special place in my heart for my S13 (which is why I pushed my brother in laws to drop SR20DETs in their S14s), but I have a new automobile love called the 370Z now. |

It all comes down to what you want out of the car. I'd say going from a S13 to a 370z would be a definite trade UP!
I currently own a 240 and have put tons of time and money into it. I love the car, it's fast as hell (2JZ swap w/ single turbo), and pretty reliable ... but I firmly believe that if I were to get a 370z, it would be a huge improvement. |

What was the quarter mile time on that?! The stock z is slackin... Try to get some bolt-ons asap, then you'll really enjoy the z.
