Default Tinting the 40th anniversary

Hi All,

Good news, last time I posted it was about my 40th getting crushed in the parking lot by the Hybrid Honda Accord, well.........i got her back and the car is back to perfect condition, ps thanks for all the support-AND-Dont worry ill post pics soon.......ANYWAYS

I was at a body shop the other day and the owner was trying to talk me into getting the windows tinted. I've had some friends who have tinted their windows (Acuras, BMW, Audi's) and for some reason I've had a certain stigma that it makes the car look cheap. However, I have recently felt tinting the windows does offer some privacy as many people often drive up next to my car ( which i do appreciate) and look and stare, etc, etc-but I do want to block out those who come up looking to race or generally make idiotic gestures. So I want to start a thread regarding the looks, opinions, suggestions, etc about TINTING A 40th anniversary. Will it make the car look cheap, look more appealing, or is it a waste of money.

To get an idea of how it may look, another member tinted his 40th, so please look at this link and let me know what you think.

I've had quite a few cars tinted and it was worth it. Every time I buy a car (including the 370, which I bought in November) I say, "I'm not going to tint this one". And then the summer comes along and I realize one reason that I always get them tinted. Much heat reduction.

Privacy is also a good thing if you have an aftermarket stereo. I've never thought that it makes cars look cheap. Unless of course it's a cheaply done job. i.e. air bubbles, purple hue, etc. Sometimes the purple hue comes from using ammonia-based cleaners on the film.

Tint laws in Massachusetts are 35% on the sides and rear, so you wouldn't have the majorly dark film, but it is enough to help reduce heat, not to mention glare from the sun. When I drive to work, the sun is constantly pointing directly into the driver's side and with tint, it doesn't bother me.

As hot as it is down here, I like seeing that red leather through the window. Summer heat is already brutal though. We'll see if I keep that opinion.
