Give Hyundai about 5 more years and it wouldn't surprise me if they surpass Honda in sales...that is if Honda keeps going in the wrong direction with their boring designs and lack of any kind of sports coupe or sports car...same goes for Toyota. Honda and Toyota are the poster children for making cars with no soul.

So, since that's really the only sports car Toyota is producing today, they really have nothing practical or affordable (like the 370Z or Genesis Coupe). Toyota hasn't made anything fun since the Supra. |

& The genesis = :shakes head: It's too close to the G37. Like the bootleg version. |

and every company had the same start as you are saying about Hyundai, except for Hyundai is making strides faster than the ther ones did back in their day. to say would i "ever" drive a hyundai is just plain stupid. You dont know what will happen in 10 years and if you do, can i have the lottery numbers please. thanx. |

Do some research next time you try to prove somebody wrong :ugh2: Hyundai Accent... $9970 MSRP Hyundai Accent: Safe, Small Cars - More Interior Than Corolla & Civic | Hyundai Not to mention it's terrible compared to a base model Versa. That's more my point than that Hyundai cars are cheap in cost. You completely missed my point, actually. I can't even believe people who bought new Z's would even argue a Hyundai is in the same league. It's just not, end of story. The 370Z is the 6th generation of Z-car sports car for Nissan. The Genesis Coupe is Hyundai's first. I will say again; Hyundai is good at making a budget beater car. They are not yet good at making a sports car. That's at least 5 years off. |
Show me why the Genesis is not in the same league as the 370.

I think a monster Hyundai will make the competition a lot more fun. I'm sure its a few years out but still... |

Actually I might have cause they are a hell of a lot better looking than the Genesis Coupe (which is downright fugly and disproportionate). |
Anyway, I'm tired of this dumb argument; I'll end it now. Hyundai is WAY behind the curve of producing a good sports car. 40+ years behind Nissan's curve. I would NEVER consider a Hyundai over a Nissan Z because of that. Nissan will always be ahead; plain and simple. You can't make up for 40 years of research, design, and motorsports experience. I absolutely love Mitsubishi cars, and if they came out with a new 2 door sports coupe I would consider it. Why? Because they would at least know what they're doing when it comes to building a track-ready sports car. They have a long history of doing so, even if it's been a long time since they produced a RWD sports car.
You can argue that I'd also say that a company on Koenigsegg has nothing on, say, Ferrari. But that's not true. Koenigsegg, (the new) Bugatti, Gumpert, Ascari etc. all have something to Ferrari that Hyundai does not have to Nissan. TONS and tons of money and time into R&D, and a true feeling of irrationality and soul about their cars. That's what a sports car is about. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe lacks that extreme level of R&D, and it even lacks the true intent to be tracked. The mere fact that it's marketed as having an extreme value for the money (read: is a cheap POS) shows that it's not a properly R&D'd sports car. It's honestly just been thrown together such that it sells well. We may have issues where Nissan cheaped out on an oil cooler, but the Hyundai Genesis Coupe wasn't even ready for road/track testing when it hit the states; it had severe performance issues until Hyundai sat back down at the drawing board to fix some alignment issues and ECU parameters. Those are two very core items that should have been flogged to death and discovered during internal testing @ Hyundai. That just goes to show how poorly the car was engineered from the start. It was built for nothing more than to look good on a spec sheet. |
i just dont like girls that smell garlicy...

I own a 2010 Z but the Genesis Coupe has been making more headlines that the Z lately. Something has to be done about this.... |
