Default Vandalized!! WTF?

So the other day I took my car to a hand car wash and as it was pulling out from the wash bay I notice this...and absolutely sh*t a golden brick.

While I couldn't possibly imagine how this could have happened while my car was being washed, I asked to see the manager. Fortunately this place has security cameras covering every single angle possible. Together we watched my car being vacuumed and washed and sure enough, there was nothing to show that the car was damaged while in their hands.

So obviously this was done while I was either at home or work, (no security cams at the office ) and I just didn't notice it until later in the day. It looks like someone just took the palm of their hand and pressed as hard as they could. There's no scuff marks or breaks in the paint, so I highly doubt that this was caused by any sort of object. What's wrong with people nowadays?

That's too bad; people have no respect for others' property! What do you plan on doing now, going through insurance?

Sorry to see that.
Call up a dent Dr. and see what the cost will be for them to come out and repair it. I wouldn't report it.

Yeap, like I oisted before I had a dent and the Dent Dr, repaired for $75.

However that damage might cost more, but try it first. Most of them are mobile and don't charge a service or tax fee. They have a Nationwide website.

Yes PDR should fix that right up and it should be around $100 or so! No bondo or paint required! You should not be able to notice it at all after if they do a good job.

I have a $500 deductible, so it's not worth it to go through insurance. Also, according to the guys at my shop, with a dent this big they're pretty sure that I won't be able to get this fixed via paintless dent repair. My guess it that's going to be about a $300-$400 job.

If it cant be fixed by the dent doctor and needs to be fixed and bondo'd then it will probably cost more than that as they will probably paint the whole panel or close to it and that might mean you will go over your deductable. If its just a few dollars then dont claim it but if its a couple hundred or more over then you might want to if you dont have the money to cover it.

PDR is right. that's more like a $300+ job, i thinks if done at a reputable shop.

do yourself a favor and DONT touch it, let the pro's do it. the more angles you accidentally put in there the harder it is for the tech to fix.

AGREED!!!!!! Let a pro fix it before you make it worse, no offense, but don't touch it.

I agree with Kenchan, The only thing that could make this worse, is if you made it worse. Whatever the Dent Dr. can do, he'll at least do it right the first time. His suction devices are smaller and more controllable... Far different than using dish soap and a toilet plunger.

Good luck... Guess on cost if Dent Dr can't fix it, meaning I am guessing at the quote you already got from a shop is $650 - $750

my car was keyed by a bunch of kids at a bowling alley.. I parked far away and heard chirps of look at that guy, how far he is parking, etc... I came out didnt notice anything, washed my car the next day and there was a pathetic key mark running along my drivers side door... It came out with Meguires Scratch X ( completely ) ... I have been stopping there, here and there looking for the kids but havent seen him again.

people just suck !

This kind of vandalisim was discussed in another thread too. If you double park or park far away all by yourself it does draw the attention of the wrong kind of people who will fuk your car up just because you think its so special to park away from everything. It sucks but thats just how some people are. I would just park regular but try to get a spot where only one car can park by you. Plus everytime I get in my car I check her out, atleast on the drivers side, just for something that might have been done to it. Hopefully the dent will come out and not have messed up the paint.

I don't get what kind of brain damaged wanker would do such a thing to ANY car . You'll get it back as new and forget about it, don't worry too much about it because this is exactly what that idiot tried to achieve -> to piss you off.

yes this kinda thing sucks bigtime and the worst part of it is if you catch the pricks and give them a beating, the law will come down on their side. Or you could restrain them and they claim excessive force you're screwed in the eyes of our law. the law is to blame for a part of this too.

That sucks. It makes me sick to see that happen to anybody's car.

It looks like someone might have been "testing out" your suspension and worked it a little too hard. No excuse for ******* behavior, but it might not have been malicious -- just stupid and inconsiderate.

It's always walking a line to try to protect these cars in public. I got a couple of laughs from other Z drivers at the last Z club of Houston meeting trying to park defensively at the restaurant where we met. I chose a corner spot, but realized I couldn't really park defensively (taking only one space, but taking ALL of it) without blocking another space. I tried about three times to line it up just right, but no dice. Either some jerk would try to slide in the 3/4 space that was left, or key me to prove "how dare I love my car and want to keep it from being damaged".

I usually split the difference in big parking lots. I park far enough away so that no one will park next to me, but not so far away that I stand out. People can suck it.
