I think what he was asking is could you see the dent in all of the security cameras at the car wash or did it appear midway through the process? Just because you don't actually see it get created doesn't mean you can't prove to the owner that it happened during the process. Wonder if they still have the footage because I'd start with the first shot of it going in.

Me personally, I would've taken someone's life at the car wash first then calmed down and watched the footage.

Ahh...that makes sense. Actually, the footage showed that after I got out of the car and while the car was being vacummed, no one approached that part of the car, much less leaned against it. As it was being pulled into the wash bay you could clearly see that the dent was already there.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. All you people out there that say DIY are pretty brave. There's no way I would screw with this myself!

The idea that I've gotten so far is that for a dent that size, PDR is going to cost anywhere from $200-$250. Also, there's a good chance that the damage would still be slightly noticable. Going the traditional bodyshop route is going to run me about $400, with the guarantee that the repair will look perfect. That being the case, it looks like I'm off to the bodyshop.

I bet you could just push that back out if you take the panel off. Then dent doctor can touch up the rest.

I bet you can fix this yourself. Get some Liquid soap and a plunger. Put the soap around the brim of the plunger to make a good seal between the plunger and the car and pop that bad boy out.

do a paintless dent repair. it seems that there are not scratches and its good to do it. or do it yourself with a towel and a pry bar by taking the panels apart. good luck!

I agree do not attempt the repair yourself it will make it impossible for a PDR tech to repair. From looking at the pics it may be possible to repair via PDR the tricky part wil be the wheel arch area as body line significantly strengthen the metal making PDR difficult also that area has limited tool access due to the inner wheel well meeting the outer sheetmetal.

You can try a hair dryer and Compressed air! It wont hurt the paint, worth a try!

I had the same results - didn't work for me, but it was a rather large q-panel dent.
