At what height can one comfortably drive the Nissan 370Z?

At approximately what height can somebody comfortably drive the Nissan 370Z, being able to fully push all of the pedals down, see over the dash, shift effectively, etc.? And without phonebooks/cushions and whatnot.

By the way, do you all clearly see the bonnet of the car and the road right in front of the car when you drive your Z?

NCSUPACK09 06-18-2010 07:47 PM

I think that the 370Z accommodates a large range of heights. There really aren't any problems with line of sight looking forward, but the blind spots are pretty bad (setting your side mirrors properly will eliminate the problem though )

Cyberium 06-18-2010 07:51 PM

I'm 5'11 and fit in it pretty good. I can my blind spots just fine. I could see a shorter person having issues seeing the blind spots because the windows are kinda high up.

6spd 06-18-2010 08:03 PM

Im 5'8" and I could easily fit if I were a few inches taller... and i'd actually be able to see over the ridiculously oversized side mirrors, too.

Spec Jay 06-18-2010 08:24 PM

5'2''
learn the dimensions of the car lol.

Sheen 06-18-2010 08:29 PM

Oh no, I think I am being misunderstood. The reason I posted is not for tall people, I mean short. What height must you hit to be able to drive the Nissan Z? I assume at some height in the 5's.

id say from my height 4'10'' is minimum. im about 4 clicks from having the seat all the way forward
pulling in is kind of a pain in the *** but just look at the reflection of the car closest to you. other than that and the inherent blind spots. its still a blast.

nolan1016 06-18-2010 08:33 PM

Im 4'9 and i need a stick to reach the pedals

Zaggeron 06-18-2010 08:35 PM

With one of these

Hardware hacking projects for geeks - Google Books

there is no height requirement ;)

kenchan 06-18-2010 08:39 PM

if you need a tad more height to see over the side mirrors you can get two M10x50 1.25pitch screws and spacers (get extra washers as the 50mm might be too long for your app) to raise the back of the seat about 1" from the floor.

The front screws won't need replacing. Just loosen the fronts while you install the back 2 screws and tighten all 4 down to 36lbs/ft. Re-torque after your testdrive.

Thanks to modshack's recommendation I tried this adjustment and now my seat is perfect height, I can see over the mirrors without seating perfectly straight. :p

Can anyone give me an estimate of the minimum height one needs to drive a 370z comfortably without any modifications?

fullmonty 06-18-2010 08:45 PM

Excuse me if this seems coarse as my intent isn't to flame, but are you a midget? If you are and you really want this car, you can adapt it to your personal needs. I've others driving pickups with all sorts of stuff. Now if you are not a midget, why are you even asking. Go to a dealer and sit in one.

What is your height? Then we'll go from there

Zsteve 06-18-2010 08:52 PM

10 feet off the ground is still good

PapoZalsa 06-18-2010 08:53 PM

I wish I have taken a pic of the over fat guy (Nissan Rep) in the convertible at ZdayZ 2010. If he can fit in the 370 anyone can.

I'd post a pic of myself, but I'm so girlishly shy. Let's just say my physique resembles Mel Gibson there in my avatar...

<-----------

And I fit in my Z just fine.

I find that most normal bridges are fine, but if it is an especially tall bridge, I can get a little nervous at times

:bowrofl: I just randomly turned TBS on last night and that episode aired. I had to have it as my av. Don't worry, I'll probably go back to Lo the Demon before long.

5' 5", methinks. I began growing vertically late last year. I am getting my permit in July. Not going to be driving a Z as my first car, no need for the lecture I am sure one of you is waiting to fire off at young people! :driving:
By the way, I sat in a Nismo 370z and my sight wasn't clear. I didn't adjust the seat at all, though. I assumed it doesn't adjust vertically. And the salesperson opened the door and stared at me until I got out. Awkward car dealers!

I'm just kidding guys, I'm a 50 year old man going through my midlife crisis and I need to remind myself how young I am at heart. That's why I am wondering how comfortable a Nissan 370z will be at about 5' 5", 'cuz that's definitely my permanent height.

You should be fine. You should go on a test drive? That way you can get a better feel for how comfy it is for you. :tiphat:
