<o></o>I need a little advice/opinions and thought this might be one way to get it.

<o></o>Assumptions:
  • Vehicle would not be a daily driver/only vehicle (primary purpose is “FUN”; see more on that below)

I bought a 2010 NISMO, it is not a daily driver and it is a ton of fun. Plus the looks it gets are priceless.

If I had had this car in High School...

To the OP: Unless you really like 'verts, the coupe is always going to be less of a hassle for a DD (no need to put top up/down, no fear of mechanism failing, cloth ripping, etc.).

Also, cost more, weigh more, and generally more to insure...

Nothing against convertables, mind you...

So...if the roadster is "more ugly" doesn't that mean you think the coupe is also ugly, just not as ugly yet you bought a coupe anyway??? :) :stirthepot:

When it's 101 degrees, 99% humidity, and a cloudless sky at. say, 3PM; my enthusiasm for a convertible wanes a bit. However, in the early morning or at night before/after the heat of the day or on a crisp fall morning or a spring day, it's difficult to match the enjoyment of a drop top!

Oh, agreed! But that means the fun of having the top down is worth the little bit of extra hassle for you --- not everybody wants to deal that, which is all I was saying.

As for me, I'd love a convertable hard-top or t-tops -- best of both worlds :yum:

I voted for the roadster because that's what I bought. I wanted a convertible. That was my primary reason for buying a car right now. Here in Phoenix I can leave the top down most of the time. In the 2 months I've had the car, I've only put it up when taking my wife to dinner some Saturday nights. Each person has to decide for themselves whether that is worth the extra cost, possibility of problems with the mechanism, lack of security when parked and all. It is for me. And I don't consider it to be "uglier."

Go for a touring roadster. But what ever you go with get the sport package

For those of you voting for the Touring Coupe; I'm wondering what issue/issues is pushing you in that direction specifically as opposed to the Roadster (which is currently in 2nd place)???

Less weight. More lateral stiffness.

I had a ’09 370Z with the sport package and traded up to the ’10 370ZR..............

Putting the 370 roadster and G37 roadster then putting 370z touring coupe and leaving out G37 coupe kinda leaves an off balance set of choices. If you are talking about fun to the level of full time track car there should only be one entry from nissan here. That's the NISMO.
If you are talking about the one car does all fun, that's between 370z and G37 COUPE.
Lastly, if you are talking about summer cruising with good performance type fun, the Z and G convertibles take the stage.

That said, I chose the 370z. I like my G but have a little bit of buyers remorse when looking at my car from a performance standpoint.

You make a good point.

I wasn't trying to be unbalanced - I didn't include the G37 Coupe only because it's not one I'm considering.

If I get a coupe I'd want the Z but as a convertible, the G is definitely on my short list.

how about you donate some of that money to the people hurt by the oil in the coasts? that might fill your void.

Ummmm...I think you're being a little harsh on Robert. For those of you who don't know, he works for Nissan and Was extremely generous in passing out VPP numbers so many of us could buy haggle free at below invoice.... I was one of those guys. Lighten up! He's been a great contributor to this forum..

Well I know all of you are eager to find out what I ended up ordering ;)

I decided to order a 2011 Nismo 370Z. My first choice of color was black and second was white..the car should arrive sometime around January/February. I almost went with another optioned out Touring coupe but decided to go with the Nismo mostly because I've had several Touring coupes, and a couple of roadsters and I thought I'd go with something a bit different.

Of course, I'm going to greatly miss all the extras like Navigation, XM with weather and traffic, bluetooth, musicbox, etc. but I
guess I'll survive! :)
