Most Tech don't know much about the Z anyway.

The Techs at my local dealer had to wait for the Nissan Corp Techs to give them instructions to reset the TPMS on my 06 350Z, even that I took the TSB with me and gave it to them.

I waited almost two months to get the TPMS reseted by the dealer.

Mine is also SLIGHTLY off to the left. But I only noticed it right after I switched my wheels...maybe that has something to do with it.....

Ahem... ALL of our steering wheels are off center by two or three feet. Probably closer to two. Unless you are in a McLaren in which it is dead center as that's where the drivers seat is as well.

It's the 1st time I notice something like that in any car I've owned, and it's just in my better half's Pathfinder; my Z doesn't suffer from it, thank God. Strange.

Yeah mine is off a tad bit to the left and it drives me crazy. Nissan has tried to fix it many times but they just cant. My Armada was like that to, Nissan fixed it more than once for free after warranty they knew it was an issue.

my Z is perfectly straight on the steering from the factory, but that doesn't necessarily mean that my thrust angle is perfect. ive not had the car aligned. the tires are wearing fairly flat and evenly so its fine for me. plus my suspension is stock.

my G's steering has been slightly cocked to 11 o-clock since running modded suspension. the alignment data (ive had my car aligned many times during the suspension setup) shows even toe angles and thrust angle is perfect, so i dont bother getting that changed just for the cocked steering wheel.

I could so relate to this! This is the other thing (for those that remember my threads regarding service people adjusting the driver seat) that absolutley drives me nuts! My steering wheel was straight on until I had new tires put on and the front end aligned (by a Nissan Dealer). After that, my steering wheel was just a little off to the left. I brought it back in to have them look at it which by the way, my Nissan Dealer/Service Dept is awesome and they know I am ocd about my Z. Anyway, they adjusted it and got it back to straight on again....okay, maybe a fraction off still to the left but definately tolerable. That's one (okay...one other) thing I can't stand not being RIGHT!

I have this... started 3 or 4 days ago... had two alignments, shop's gonna try to figure it out, but I'll ask em to try modshack's idea also.

Don't let them adjust for the crown in the road. If you do, you will have an ill handling car. Have them try to get it dead nuts on to spec. They have a low and high value. Have it set dead in the middle. With a road with a crown, you should have to steer left a little. If you let go of the wheel it will pull to the right just a touch. This is the way it is supposed to be. Once you find a good alignment guy, stick with him. They are hard to find. American made car folks try to adjust for the crown. That's fine on an American made car but not on a Nissan. You will have one ill handling darty piece of crap. Negative camber also throws them for a loop.

When I bought my used 2008 Nissan Maxima back in 2012 it drove like crap. Drove it in the rain one day and it was trying to plow through the puddles. It would go left and right on it's own. The toe was out on all 4 tires. It was aligned at a Chevrolet dealer when they put 4 new tires on before I bought it. I got it aligned and it drove wonderful, especially in the rain. I don't slow down in the rain either. That's what they make new tires, wiper blades, and Rain-X for.

Thanks for the info man, I'll pass it along when I'm in the shop. Also, the only reason I noticed this is during driving on straight roads.

Your welcome. Hope you get it fixed.

I had a 1990 Nissan 240sx aligned and tires balanced before a weekend trip. I hated it. When I got to my fathers town, I went straight to the local Tire shop and had the work re-done. They did it perfectly. I was very pleased. Needless to say I didn't go back to the other shop. I was done with them.
