Stealership story!!

You can tell the stealerships from the good dealers easily, because stealerships are in business to make money. Honest dealers are tax-free, non-profit organizations run by saints or Oprah.

The problem isn't so much the mileage, but the lack of checking the oil level and realizing its running low!

Yeah that dude is just plain dumb. It might of been 14k for the engine and them to install the engine and everything. The guy that had the car obviousely didnt know a thing about cars or else he would of got it changed sooner. I know some people change every 2k miles... and thats basically just throwing money away in my opinion. I usually change mine every 5k. Longest Ive gone was 6k but kept checking to see if it was or not.

Or at least checked it. Published oil change intervals have NOTHING to do with the owners need to check and maintain the car. This guy was an idiot and deserves the bill for repair. Sounds like he beat the crap out of the car. I have absolutely no sympathy here.
Morons that abuse their cars probably have other issues too. You probably wouldn't want to be his girlfriend. Spoiled rich kid comes to mind..

i agree that was the point of the post. he treated the car like crap and wanted nissan to foot the bill.any fool who runs his car 4 quarts low and then blames the dealership is an idiot.not all dealerships are crooks.

and no i don't work at one.

anyone want sticker shock + a heart attack just look at the labor for changing out the ansa headers on a 355 Ferrari or the fuel pump replacement on a Ferrari.

Why are you going to the dealership for the oil change? I went for my first but no more... got my second elsewhere. I stood next to the guy and watched him do everything nice and good. Dealership oil change costs are about twice vs. 80-90 dollar an hour repair shops, good ones.. I'm not even saying goto Walmart tire n lube..

I paid $85 or so at my mechanic, vs. almost twice of that at the dealership. Now that I've seen it step by step and there's a nice thread by AK370 with pics/instructions to do it yourself I'm gonna try the next time.
