OK...final explaination
I'd been thinking of selling the Z because I've not been all that happy with it. I've felt for a while now that the 7AT is limiting my options to upgrade the car, and limiting my fun with it. In addition, it's a redundant vehicle for me...I have another vehicle that is just as much fun (if not more so)...the Z is basically a 4-wheeled motorcycle with a cabin and air conditioning. In addition, the Z can't carry anything in it - good luck carrying anything more than..well...nothing. Truth be told, the motorcycle is more fun on shorter trips. Z is better on longer ones, but, doing longer trips on the bike is still fun...just not for one's rear. I backed out of the deal for the Vette because the dealer screwed up the paint and a few pieces to the car, and wouldn't take care of all of them. If they called me up right now, and said "we'll fix everything" - I'll go through with it because I like the car. The price I am paying for the car is $43999, plus $2K for TT&L. plus $2600 for an 84mo warranty, plus what I owe for the Z when compared to the buy-bid. Had the Z not been "upside down" as much, I'd be out the door at $48599. Had I opted for no warranty and no TT&L...guess what...$43999. How many here financed their Z and are posting ********? Throw a stone in a glass house.... |

what? |
I think these threads should be presented countrywide to help explain the debt problems Americans face on a day to day basis due to their financial decisions.

Actually, I think Kannibul should schedule a US tour in order to inform high school students about the effects of these decisions. Might help pay off some of those impulse purchases.

The dealer's profit on that deal (including the warranty) was around $5,000+, Plus his finance kickbacks, Plus another $3500 if he sells your Z for $30K (about what it's worth retail). In the car Biz, they call that a "Home Run"....right Lou? In the realm of psychology, there's a word for all this... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance You are a classic example ... |

This beats watching "The Young and the Restless"!:rofl2:

If you are going to finance a vehicle it's important to research resale values over time so you know the minimum amount of cash you need to put down so you're never underwater on the loan. I think most of us did this. :D

This is the best thread ever!

if someone can briefly summarize what happened, i seem to have missed an epic thread

The only way i can think that selling your car for another car for financial reasons is if you downsized. I think most would agree with me, that unless you were selling your Z and buying a much LESS expensive car, you are making a bad choice. You would have been best off just keeping the Z and enjoying it. At this point it'd have been a financial wash between keeping the Z and enjoying it or buying a camry and not enjoying it.

I say go buy gap Insurance and run it into a tree.

Kannibul did pay too much, but you guys kicked him in the nuts when he was down. It's one thing to tell him, but damn... you guys tore him a new one. I'm sure he's well aware that it was a bad deal. Or at least he does now. No need to rub it in.
And the term is "We ripped his head off". |
GM bailout = Kannibul jk ... that does kinda suck
