370 is freaking out.

My 370 is kinda... freaking out.

This has happened about 3 times in the past month, I am taking it to the dealership but I wonder what you guys think of it.

Last time was the worse.

So I am at my favorite bar and out of nowhere my alarm goes off while nothing touched it(I was sitting at a window next to the car). Odd thing is that I know that turned off the alarm because it keeps on going off because I tend to keep the left window open because its getting hot here but that causes bugs to fly in and trigger it.

Ok no problem you would think, open it and the alarm goes off?

http://esreality.hexus.net/files/pla...hor-wrong1.jpg

I press every single button on my fob but it does nothing, opening, closing, nothing works, I try pushing the buttons on the doors and trunk, nothing. Car doesn't open and alarm keeps on going.

In the end I opened it with the actual key, alarm still going off, tried to start it, nothing not even ACC or ON. I tried pressing the alarm button behind my seat. didn't work.

After about 10 minutes of just spamming my fob buttons it suddenly worked again.

I leave, power windows don't work so I had to reset them again, language of the computer is in english instead of dutch, I normally put it on the temperature but its on the fuel usage bit. CD player reset to CD 1 instead of 4.

This seems to happen pretty often these days.

Also is the alarm supposed to go off if you leave your car unlocked?

So yeah, what the hell :rofl2:

DjSquall 06-01-2010 05:55 AM

Might possibly be a short in the alarm circuit? That's totally f'n weird man

zZSportZz 06-01-2010 06:57 AM

kenchan 06-01-2010 07:11 AM

Vegitto-kun- your old enough to go to a bar yet your dad needs to pay for your car. That is an alarm right there. :D

Its pretty much impossible for somebody around my age to borrow the 44.000 euro (53.521 dollars) for a car.

So I borrowed half the money from the bank and half from my father.

Is that a problem?

Only if you can't afford to eat after your payments.

Vegitto-kun 06-01-2010 08:08 AM

No problem. I am surviving, the fact that my gas is billed to the company sure helps haha.

another thing that might matter. nothing electronically was working, no lights on the start button, not even the lock signal. Couldn't move the seats either. the lights inside didn't go on too

DarkPath 06-01-2010 09:00 AM

I think its a short in your fog lamp circuit... That why no one here in the states has experienced the problem. Torching the interior may not fix the issue... But it will go a long way toward diagnosis... Good luck...

antman22 06-01-2010 09:11 AM

I think its poltergeist.

you and your car are both owned by your dad... that's why the Z is not responding to you. hahaha :icon17:

wat are you going to do when it's time to buy a house? borrow 1/100 from bank and 99/100 from dad? btw, are you japanese by any chance? wtf are parents doing to their kids??

RCZ 06-01-2010 11:14 AM

Not sure there's anything wrong with that. If I had kids and the means, I would help them out too.

Have you installed aftermarket head unit?

Sounds like a batter terminal might be loose or something is shorting.

kenchan 06-01-2010 11:24 AM

im definitely with helping out my kids when they need a means of transportation. but a brand new sportscar they can't afford? nope.

RCZ 06-01-2010 01:21 PM

If that's their passion and its within reason, I would. I wouldn't get my kid a Porsche turbo, but an evo might be OK. I'd help out with the down payment and expect them to pay everything thereafter. Want them to be responsible, give them responsibility. Of course that's my opinion now that I dont have kids and things will most likely change, but it worked with me years ago.

well my father had to borrow money too to buy his GT-R does that mean he cant afford it?

I can afford it but I don't just have 40.000 euro laying around. The only problem I have is that my bank is an ******* and doesn't want to borrow more than 25000 for a car.

And he didn't GIVE it to me. I am paying him back together with the bank. what is the problem with that?

Nope, the only aftermarket part I bought was the stillen CAI.

kenchan 06-01-2010 02:47 PM

I still havent put them on. No time, these days im going to customers or going to measure up rooms untill 10PM, im rarely home at 8 pm haha

kenchan 06-01-2010 02:57 PM

i see... i'd take the car in and let the dealer figure it out. make sure you ask for a loaner when you setup your appointment so they dont give you a run around when you arrive.

:iagree: If my kids wanted something nice and they want to pay me monthly, I'd probably buy it for them. But if they miss payment, their car will be taken away replaced with a Honda Civic. That'll teach them responsibility.

Oh they are going to check it out while changing my oil, they were going to do a top to bottom checkup anyway since il be racing at francorchamps on the 9th so I want the car ready.

But yeah when they installed the CAI they offered me a micra :rofl2: but yeah they lolled and said that I can pick which one I wanted but I figured I shoudl stay there incase they don't understand something.

but this will be the awesome bit about the oil change. if the GT-R and/or 370 roadster are there and there are no test drives planned I can pick one of them. totally the roadster

What is so bad about civics anyway? Most people think they are pretty nice. :ugh2: Went to a honda tuning meeting. twas hilarious but I did see one nice engine 3.0 V6 VTEC repainted in blue with a massive air intake and apparently custom turbo charged forgot what car though

I couldn't resist yelling "VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO"

they cheered :inoutroflpuke:

Apparently not haha.

I actually had to drive past them about 5 times. once I couldn't find a parking spot, then I left to pick up a friend, went back, left again and went again and then left

I lolled at them pointing and going "OMG OMG OMG"

I treated them to slight drift and 7500 shifting I really regretted not having my CBE and LTH

Agreed, it will force them to find a good steady job and not party all their money away. Can't make payments for the month? Can't drive it for the month. Sorry bud, but you get to stare at it everyday when you grab your bicycle or watch me take it out for a spin. If at the same time I can manage to find some healthy common ground that we both like and can connect through AND help them build credit while we're at it then why not.

I gotta say it would have to be AWD though, young kids are much too dumb to drive RWD as their first car..

Most of what I drove as a teen were RWD cars. And I was rather dumb, but I survived and learned a ton about what to do and what not to do.

The first car I bought myself was FWD, though, in order to get hither and thither in wet weather better.

Vegitto-kun 06-01-2010 05:14 PM

im young and I survive driving around in a RWD car but im not a crazy driver, sure I can floor it once in a while but that is quite rare and in places without building or trees or anything dangerous. going sideways is the same

Just a side note but wouldnt him borrowing half from his dad lower his debt to income ratio making it easier to buy a house, since only half was financed instead of the full amount. just saying. If I could borrow money with a 0% interest rate I would think you would be stupid to not take the offer saving a great deal of money over time regardless of who its from. to the op: It isnt impossible for someone your age to get approved for the loan, im 21 and I just signed the papers today..

Did u have a co signer? How much was ur loan amount? Which financial institution? Ur rate? Financed through dealer? Lol sorry for all these questions... Just trying to make clear how u were able to get a loan urself at age 21. Especially with all these strict requirement guide lines most lenders follow these days. But congrats on ur purchase!

Remember im in belgium things are probably different here.

Nope no cosigner, I financed about 27 after down payment, and this was also with a BMW M3 being financed still. I've yet to be turned down by a bank yet my interest rate was 5.9%. Basically I've been smart with my money built my credit score into the mid 700's Im not rich I'm in the military. Im carefull with how I work my budget I've been living on my own and paying all the bills since I graduated high school. And I'm still far from living paycheck to paycheck I'm still able to invest a few hundred a month.

Vegitto-kun 06-05-2010 02:59 PM

got the car back, went in for full checkup and oil.

Seems there was something loose that might of been the reason.

But the best moment was when I got my replacement car.

Best replacement car ever made

Vegitto-kun 06-05-2010 04:19 PM

Not really I actually think its rather awesome. smooth ride, smooth shifting, acceleration was faster than I thought.

but yeah I had to go from a 370 to a cube with 1.6 diesel 5MT

and it ******* had carbon fiber goodies inside like the holder for the window buttons is made out of carbon, the airco and stuff has carbon accents.

even the ******* GT-R doesn't have that
