Angry ?370z clutch problem

Bought new car in December 2009, noticed smell in car from the first day but thought it was because it was new. The smell kept coming and going, took it into dealer, car has 4,600 miles and have been told need new clutch but not covered by warranty as they state I have been "riding the clutch". Previously owned 350z from new for 14 months, never had any problems with that, garage say that want approx £900 for the repair. Busy dealing with Head Office, has anybody else had similar problems?

I'm going to bump this for you because I know if I were in your position I'd want someone to answer my question.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. From time to time I do smell something in my car as well. But, its generally when I first start driving my car or when it has been sitting in the sun all day and I get back in it. So I'm assuming it's just from the interior, or possibly the vents(especially without an in cabin filter).

Best of luck to you

Clutches are not covered under warranty, unless they find a problem with the pressure plate that would not release the clutch fully, if they see scorned wear and they can smell the burnt clutch they will test the pressure plate, if they find it acceptable your out of luck.
