You need to check them both out, and test drive both, and make the decision for yourself. most here are going to be biased of course. good luck

the s2000 may be more nimble in the corners, but the Z is VERY capable in the handling department. Anyone who says the Z is "all power" has either never driven one or just likes to talk trash. If you plan on driving lots of short technical tracks buy an s2k, otherwise get the Z =]

test drive both, good night.

i currently own an 08 AP2 S2K and a 09 370Z. i think its safe to say that i am not as biased as other members around here on the forum.

I bought the 370Z first when it came out and it sorta wasnt what i wanted, so i decided to sell it and get an S2K. (this whole dilemma was going on last year august?)

Ever since, I have had both in my garage sorta wanting to sell the S2K (i barely drive it around) and keep the Z. Why? honestly the Z spoiled it for me with the low end torque. And it is also easier to live with. (more interior room, larger trunk.)

Do i regret getting the Z? Hell no.
Do i regret getting the S2K? not really.
At the age of 24, the S had everything that the Z was missing ,but in the end, the Z had alot more to offer than the S.

i didnt want to go into much details because you probably read alot of reviews about both cars. Just think about what you would really want. A raw sports car that looks outdated(personal preference) or a newly designed sports car with little amenities that you would appreciate for the next... 3-5 years.

S2000 for me. 04/05 for non drive by wire to be specific. If you want drive by wire, go with 08/09... or CR.

If you're going to stay in the streets 90% of the times (meaning very very little track time), I say go with 370Z. You'll be a much happier camper. Can't beat the low end torque of the VQ with a 4 banger... haha

Very good point. Only thing to differentiate the two right now would be the price. Z being new will be more expensive, but it will have more up-to-date tech in it. Heck, S2000s don't even come with Nav as a factory option. haha

I'd still go with a S2000 tho'. It'd be nice to own both.

EDIT: To add a little more... I'd say S2000 is pure driver's car... whereas a Z34 is a all around nice/comfy/fast car.

Don't listen to all the things that s2ki has to say. That board is one of the most immature boards I've ever been in. I came from an 07 s2k. Do I still miss the S at times? Yes. I think the s2k is one of the best engineered cars ever made. Nothing feels like it even at double that price range. Do I regret selling it for the Z? Hell no. The Z is a completely different beast I'll admit. It's not as nimble and quick on its feet but it just completely rapes the S in so many other areas that I was willing to give up that nimbleness to obtain the other factors. I'm not saying that the Z is not nimble, because by anyone's standards it still is, but the S is in a class of its own when it comes to being quick and light on its feet. I love the Z and it's definitely a huge upgrade in every category to me. The s2k even tho started production in 2000, the technology is from 1995 when they started engineering it, and the car definitely shows age.

i had just gotten rid of my s2k...plain and simple. torque. i know it doesnt mean everything but damn it was a killer not having any of it...amazing car, but i think Z wins this one, if it were s2k VS 350z i would say s2k, but not against 370

They are two very different cars. You should go test drive both. I was checking out the CR (with AC version) but decided on the Z.

I think the CR would fit me better physically, but the Z feels more streetable and actually more refined. First impressions: CR felt like a modded honda. Z felt like a bimmer.
