Default Whistling Inteligent Key Warning Buzzer?

Not sure where to post this...

I have an '09 370Z MT. Under the driver headlight, there is a buzzer or beeper mounted there that beeps when you press the little buttons on the door or under rear hatch.

My buzzer seems to be humming or whistling at a very low level all the time. I disconnected the battery and it's silenced immediately. Reconnect and the sound returns.

Any body else heard of this? I've got a Stillen G3 CAI and exhaust on the car. Besides being upset about the annoying noise, I'm concerned that the dealer and Nissan will leave me in the lurch.

A little help?

Are people getting warranty voids over exhaust?

Does sound like a faulty speaker/device that puts out the sound.

That's why there are warranty laws. Unless the dealer can prove that the exhaust affected the buzzer (which any reasonable person can determine that it will not), the waranty is still in place.

Im aware of the Magnuson-Moss stuff ,etc. That doesn't keep dealers from making wild claims, though.

And generally the cost of getting an attorney to fight the loss of a warranty will greatly out weigh the cost of just having the car fixed.

To which they could all deny doing the work. (although that doesnt make much sense, since they get paid by nissan to do warranty work).

A lot of the nissan dealers in my area are owned by the same family, so it may end up being a crapshoot.

I want to do a few things to the Z (mainly cat back and possibly midpipes) but im scared they will screw with me on the warranty.

It has been stated the only way they can refuse the warranty work is if the aftermarket part is the culprit and only that part is not under warranty.

Havn't you ever known of people getting denied because they modified any part of their car?

Wasn't there a guy on here who put on his own oil cooler and got denied warranty for anything there on out?

Not trying to argue (or thread jack, sorry!) but I want to make sure I dont pwn myself for putting a catback on the car.

I understand, but from what I know the warranty for a part that fails directly from a aftermarket part is the only thing they can void. they cant void doing any warranty work for an unrelated problem. i hope this clears things up. Now thats not to say a dealer is a total prick and not touch the car due to aftermarket parts thats also a possibility.

People are way too paranoid about their dealer denying them. It's not that common unless the part you put on directly affects whatever is broken. Most dealers aren't very intelligent but they're not all ******** waiting to screw you on your warranty.

It's might not be an attempt to screw you on your warranty. But it may be a general policy at the dealership uses to protect them from breaking Nissans warranty rules and jepardizing their relationship.
