and you DO realize the Akebono brakes on your car are the cheapest 4 pot brakes available on the market today right?

Well I did also buy a CBR600 right around the same time, so that's where the extra money went. But no, the extra 10 bucks a month the sport package would have cost did not factor into my decision. Plugging the holes after removing the rear spoiler did, and the fact that I didn't care for the rest of the features enough.
Yes, the 18 inch wheels suck. Of course. That's your take on it. The main advantage of bigger brakes is better heat dissipation so it takes longer for brakes to start fading. I've personally never had that problem on the street. Some people drive way more aggressively than I do and that would be important. Most people here probably love the rear spoiler. At least two of us don't. My above post was my view on it when purchasing my car and was giving him an alternate viewpoint from the poster above me. Just giving the original poster things to consider for himself. |

Heres the deal, OP, is the SP worth the 3 grand extra? yeah, it is. Is everything included in the package necessary for the enjoyment of your daily commute? absolutely not. Are you going to be happy with the car in stock form? or do you plan on replacing some of the sport package options straight away or down the road? As i've stated before, if none of that flashy stuff is important to you, save the 3k and add some more power to your car, lord knows we need it with all these stupid fast muscle cars coming out these days...

If you don't care about the wheels, SRM, brakes, or LSD, you can get one with the Aerodynamics Package -- according to Edmunds the MSRP on that is $640. I've no idea whether you could find a base coupe with just the aero package, but it is an official option separate from the sport package.

Thanks for the feedback guys-- I really appreciate it.
I'm going to sit and chew on this a bit and will also contact Lou Fusz Nissan -- who specifically should I contact there? Anybody?. Thanks again! Last edited by Jordo!; 05-26-2010 at 08:45 PM. |

I would do it for the SynchRev, Brakes, and the LSD. Seems to be worth it.

Man .. I should have reread the OP post before responding. If it really is only the brakes and LSD that you are after, then I'm pretty sure you can get aftermarket parts for both of those for under 3k. Caveat ... aftermarket parts won't be covered the the factory warranty. More to chew on I guess ...

I personally disagree with everyone..I could care less about the sport package. The aftermarket wheels I like don't fit the sport brakes and the rims aren't THAT awesome, the small wing is pointless and boring IMO, and I wanted the 7sp..go figure haha. But I DID wish I had dished out the few extra grand for the touring for the perissimon(?) leather But after a new exhaust, cats, intakes, spoiler, and wheels..I'm happy. BUT HEY..TO EACH THEIR OWN!!!! The Z is great being base I think
