Sport Package is a must have. I am very surprised that the Z is even offered with an open diff, but whatever. Correct me if I'm wrong but the rear brakes on the sport package are larger then the standard front brakes from the base model. Like everyone else said the car also looks alot better. Got to get it.

ha. I do believe that the earlier reports of "thread failed" and "thread done" were grossly premature. In fact, some of those posts seem to have been deleted. I'm not naming names ... :stirthepot:

To Sport or not to Sport, that is the question.
Hey guys, new to the forum :ughdance:. Went to the dealer today and they didnt have anything to test drive but they located a 6 speed with mats, spash guards and a sport package. The question is, is the sport package worth it??
My cost on a sport package over a base is $2628. On a lease that ends up being $69 a month more on this particular car ($368 vs $437). Of course the sport package includes RAYs 19's, synchro match, LSD, bridgestone potenzas, rear spoiler, sport brakes, aero chin, and euro shocks. Here's the thing...euro shocks are going to be nothing like KYB's or Koni adjustables right?? The sport brakes are they really better if I just upgrade pads and rotors? The wheels I may upgrade anyways (or sell here if people will by them), the synchro match i know how to heal/toe as i race, the LSD would be nice if it works good, the spoiler I may get it anyways or the Nismo or aftermarket, and the aero chin i could care less about. So what do you all think that have a sport or not since i havn't test drove either? |
The sport brakes and the wheels and tires are huge upgrades in performance. VLSD is better than nothing but it isn't predictable like a good LSD. SRM's best feature is showing which gear you are in since on the street I don't want rev match and on the track I do it myself. I don't thing there is any difference in springs on shocks on the sport. The spoiler and chin are better than plain. For $2628 it is worth it IMO.

Sssssssppppppooooorrrrrrrrrtttttttt!!!!!!!!!!
Ddddddddddoooooo iiiiiiiiiiiittttttt |
even if you sell the wheels, i think the sport is still well worth the $.

I vote for sport too. If you were to buy all that stuff in the cheapest aftermarket parts on the market, you'd pay two or three times that much for it. You can get $1200 to $1500 for a nice set of sport wheels alone.
