Last night.. DYI project.

Rustproofed my undercarriage. If you guys take a look underneathe your car, you will certainly see corrosion started to form on the flanges which bolt the exhaust to the mid pipe, and possible other components..

My exhaust flanges were turning orange. I went to the dealer and wanted to know if this is normal for a car with less than 700 miles bought two months ago. and they said 'yeap, we know. It's common. It is what it is'. It's only surface corrosion. Classy response from the dealer


I did some research online and chatted w/ other car guys. I went to a autoparts store, got the rustoleum flat black rust protectant. No primer needed. Got the car in the garage, slipped underneathe, and sprayed the corrosive parts. I put on two coats, dried in about 45 minutes completely. this morning checked out the results.. looks mucccccccch better.. Maybe it's me, but, I can't stand the fact i was seeing orange corrosion on a new car, and likelihood it would be getting worse, not a good thought..
