yah, it's an effective system. just be smart not to drag grit across the paint (use clean towel and make only one pass). been using it lately on my dd. no swirls or haze.

Happy - once you get comfortable using the stuff, I think you'll love it. Remember to wipe in one direction, and as soon as you see dirt on the towel, change to a clean part of the towel. I've never used more than two towels to "wash" the car.

I do the roof, hood, and trunk first, then move to the upper part of the doors and fenders next, followed by the nose and tail. The last part I wipe down is the lower sides of the car.

For my wheels, I'll cheat and use a clean damp wash rag, rinsing it out with water after each wheel - the fronts being the dirtiest.

I'll then follow that up with a wipe down with Griot's Spray-on Wax, including the rims.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Oh thanks for the information! I was wondering how many towels was a typical use. Someone online that reviewed it was doing his three series with two towels as well!

Ima have to check out the Spray-on Wax as well if the Spray-on wash works out well. You just wait and see...by this time next year I'll become such a Griot's whore that I'll have the Griot's cart and wear a Griot's T-shirt AND hat while cleaning the Z.

Don't be afraid to use more than two; it's all a function of how dirty the car is. It's so dry here in Houston, I'm mainly cleaning the light spray kicked up by the tires from the sprinkler run-off going to work.

As far as being a Griot's whore - welcome to the club. If you get good enough, I'll introduce you to Madam Chan.

Thanks Ken,

What about road grime? Is that why you suggested all the towels.

We finally started getting rain, but only small cells. Enough to trash the car but not enough to end the restrictions.

"Washed" mine last week for Cars and Coffee after the storm last Thursday, and it came out great.

yah, i spray a liberal amount, let it soak for about 4-5 sec then wipe off using only the clean part of that green MF towel they show. only wipe in vertical (top to bottom) motion, one pass. then turn the towel over, make another pass on a new section. after you get most of the grime off, take a fresh towel, spray lightly once again and wipe off the entire panel. becareful that the floor could get pretty slick if you're on tiles or smooth concrete from the over spray and drip.

i follow up with some QD at the end but not necessary. i dont recommend using this product on glass, but it wont hurt anything. i use WindowCleaner for glass.

it's a great product and if you use a lot of fresh towels you wont risk swirling the finish. just be smart not to drag your towel over caked on mud for instance.

Damn, forgot why I came into this thread. ..... Just finished a exterior detail, boy it needed it. Picked up Meguiars NXT carwash. First time using it and I gotta say I was pretty impressed. It lifted bugs abd grime fairly easy Finished up with Meguiars Ultimate Quik Wax. I have been using that quik wax for years, I really love it. Gotta appreciate being able to wax a car in a matter of minutes and the finished product is beautiful, again I really love that stuff. If I were to paste wax, time didnt allow me to do so, I use Meguiars NXT Tech Wax 2.0 which I like as well.

im not too familiar with this wax, is it applied with a microfiber cloth? currently i am using machine wax and it takes a while to do an entire car especially if i have to wash, claybar, polish it first

Yeah its in a spray bottle and you use a MF towel to apply. Its great for inbetween paste waxes. I can literally wax the car in about 5 min. The result is smooooth and shiny!!! I loathe paste waxing, might be a dif story if I had a buffer but alas I dont.

Ever try a wet dryer sheet on bugs? It works amazingly well.

Megs Ultimate Quick wax is a very good OTC product, one of my favorite spray waxes out there at the moment. For me, the three best things about it are that it produces great beading, has decent durability, and can be used in the sun.

This is just a phone picture, but this is Menzerna Power Lock topped with Megs UQW:
