Yeah, once it shrinks I'll buff it and it should blend OK and just look a little off-color (and not pearl.) I don't think it was through the primer so it shouldn't rust, but I dunno, maybe I'll go get an estimate. I just hate to not be driving it!

Get the dr color chip kit and smooth it in a couple of times and let it dry before polishing smooth. Sorry to hear about the scratch. makes your heart sink when you see it.

On another note, I knocked 8k into the odometer today with a nice highway drive.

Hey Beach how is the swamp doin? I blew up a VW Bug on the long bridge in the Dismal Swamp years ago going from Oceana to Cherry Point. Again good luck with the blemish Davey, yes our cars where meant to be driven and driven hard so they are bound to have small imperfections.

Swamp is good today. Wind must be blowing the right way. Drove the ZR in this morning and just scheduled 15k at lunch time. Tried to get a Juke but they don't have one in the rental dept yet. Maybe next time.

Yeah, that is a good rund down that way as long as you don't blow anything up. I blew up a baja bug back in the day myself.

I agree.... if it won't buff out with a PC/DA, dr. chip it, then buff again. Nice job on turning 8k man! I turned 2k last weekend!

No Z action for me today... got her retinted yesterday, so letting that dry up. I'm also considering getting a viper alarm set. Anyone have that? They have ones now that have a 2 way transmitter so you know if your car is going off, from a mile away, or an app for your smart phone for you to arm it, get notified if a window is broken, tilted 3degrees or more for wheel jacking, and just when it's going off. I am even tempted to get the proximity sensor, with a loud siren stating "GET THE F*** AWAY FROM THE CAR".

although that would probably cause me even MORE unwanted attention.

Now you know how I feel when I log on in the evening! For the most part I cannot log on during the day and just get overwhelmed by all the posts on this thread.... Truth be told...it's a good overwhelmed.

Say, did you strip the tint yourself, or have it done? If you had it done, would you care to share on how much they charged? Also, what %age did you go with? I'm in for pics!

Proximity sensing noise makers will def cause more troubles than it's worth, but the tilt and glass breakage is awesome. I had a Viper on my last vehicle and was able to program it to do all kinds of goodies automatically, like roll down or up the windows and pop the door locks in a particular order (1 press for driver and 2 for all doors), and pop the trunk glass or hatch with a separate button! It was awesome! If I wanted to, I could've had it open or close the moonroof too!

I'd like to join this fray if I may

I just added the OEM 370Z Rear Spoiler (linky) to my '09 370Z. After much deliberation over which spoiler to bolt onto my baby I decided to finally plunk down my hard-stolen cash on the OEM unit. It's subtle yet sublime, adding an understated aggressive aesthetic improvement to the already sexy rear

Next up- a tasty after market exhaust!

Thanks Ken. Yeah, I get that too whenever I have the garage open and working on the car, or on the driveway and working the interior or exterior.

Meaning, your tint moved slightly or your window moves slightly up and down as normal?

congrats and welcome. Yeah OEM spoiler FTW, although, I do like the Mine's add on too, and I think Alchemy had a duck style spoiler that looked good too.

Hahahha, I did that too over the weekend. I have continental DW's on the car and they gripped pretty damn well... well, that's until I drove my G in the same condition which is running bridgestone S04's. The S04's is the clear winner. biggest difference was over painted lines on the road. Where the Z spun a little with moderate acceleration G did not... even with a pretty aggressive launch for wet.

G2Z- on the tint, hope to see picts.

yah, tilt sensors are hell of a lot more functional than wheel locks.

no z action for me either today. just glaced over at her this am.

Ok, so I took the ZR to the have the 15k service done and picked up the loaner. 2011 Altima base model. Yuk. Anyway, I pulled the Z up to the drop off bay and stepped out of the car. The attendant girl looked me in the eye and said "Man, that thing is sexy!" I thanked her and told her it was a lot of fun.

So when I went back to pick it up I had to wait for my service advisor to get off the phone with another customer. As we were talking, I noticed she was staring over my shoulder. She stopped mid sentence, paused for a moment, and said "I'm sorry. That car is so freaking hot, I can't stand it." I realized she was looking through the glass into the drop off bay at the roadster.

Nice! Now if only those comments were directed at you my friend..then you could've said "would you care to take me for a ride?"
