Look guys maybe your right, I'm a ****. Fine. But I didn't come here to sell stuff I came here to make stuff. YOU are the ones who pushed this item to be made for sale. Go back and read the thread, All I wanted was to meet some people who could help me with my geometry.

I've spent countless hours working on this by now, Trying to make it more affordable for YOU guys. If you want to turn on me now because of a couple comments I made, fine I'll pack my sh!t and hit the road.
I'm still extremely interested in the badges and can't wait to see IF you do in fact put them up for sale to interested parties. You have to realize that there will always be certain types on public forums and you need to decide whether you want to be involved in that or not. Personally, I hope you hang around because clearly you have skills and the ability to use them for a greater purpose and those are the types of people who succeed in this world.

EDIT: On a side note, what does one have to do around here to get Rep Power to move off of a 1? Stopping short of whoring myself, there must be a way right?

no, people have to click on the scales at the bottom left under your screen name to give you rep points. Not every click equals a point though.

AgStacker - read things in the context that they are written. When I said “make my dinner” people were telling you to change this and change that, I had posted before to stop changing each little thing and make it the way you wanted it and let people customize it as they wanted to... I.E make my dinner too was a joke implying that everyone wanted there own product from what you were making.

And when I said make this sh!t, I meant make it so I COULD (past tense) buy it.

Not once did I say anything bad about your product, from the start I have said I wanted to buy it.

You are the one that went off on the personal attack saying that I cannot afford it...

If I remember correctly from the beginning of this thread you don't own this shop that you work at. So from that I will take it that you are a general machinist? Maybe a designer of some sorts? Maybe even an engineer? I am not going to say anything bad about your job because I am sure you do well for yourself plus just like you have no idea what I do, I don’t know what you do. However you have not a clue what I do for a living.

So just because I do not own two or more 370’s and I have not invested more than the $50,000 it cost me to purchase the vehicle please do not pass judgment on the amount of income I make and what I can and cannot afford.

I wish you all the luck in the “sales” (but your not doing sales) of your product however I can guarantee you if this becomes a for sale product you have lost at least one client and I am sure a few more because of the comments made today.

However you have not a clue what I do for a living. I actually work for one of the world’s top 10 banks. I manage 6 sales staff at my branch and actually make a very good living for myself. I have completed the Certified Financial Planners course and have the CFP designation. I was a financial planner for a while until I was prompted to managing staff FP sales staff.

So just because I do not own two or more 370’s and I have not invested more than the $50,000 it cost me to purchase the vehicle please do not pass judgment on the amount of income I make and what I can and cannot afford.

Although I quoted you in the "you can not afford comment", it was not just directed at you but toward anyone one and everyone who was expecting these things to be inexpensive.

You made a comment about how filling your tank with unicorn blood would be cheaper and you would not be buying if the price per set was $500. Then several posts later you said you were interested in buying (past tense). Even after I reassured you that the price would be high.

I meant to use you as an example, not make a personal attack on you directly.

It's ok, we use him as examples too, although it's usually more funny and with a lot more obscenities

Ag, is it possible yet to have a sort of ball park estimate that people can start legitimately checking their bank accounts for? Or are we still not far enough into development for that...

I know everyone's been throwing around the $500 hammer, but do you have anything more accurate right now?

My cost to use the machines for personal profit will be $100 per hour. The cycle time on the prototype was about 2 hrs. 15 min. (one emblem) That was a first attempt and I will be able to reduce cycle time slightly on the next go-round but I'm not foreseeing a huge time savings with out affecting the look of the final product.

After that I would need to cut in Kevin (Scruffydog) for surely if money is made he is deserving of some of it.

I would have to pay $700 per year to become a vendor on this Forum.

I can not even estimate the cost of reaching a licensing agreement with Nissan or what percentage they would want.

Then you got UPS and the tax man.

I imagine few will be willing to pay the price required to cover these costs. And I'm perfectly fine with that. There is no room for profit here and I never really intended for there to be.

I see the most likely scenario as this:

5 sets get made, One for me, One for Kevin.

AK gets 70 bucks for a one month vendorship.

3 sets hit ebay.

Then I start my next project. Solid sterling silver shift knob.

Aside from the awesome work you're putting into this, it is sad that its not easier/more cost effective to make these because they are an awesome idea.

I appreciate the fact that you are getting many many suggestions but in the future please don’t attack people that have supported your project from the start and people who wanted to buy your product. All I was trying to do was have a little fun with what was going on. If you do not want more suggestions and feedback I would suggest closing off that portion of the thread and do this project the way you want it and the way that you feel will provide you with the best possible sales.

You are developing something great here and I wish you all the luck with the sales.
