thanks for all the reply/info guys

the car is at the shop still waiting for it to be inspected.
they (insurance co.) sure are taking their sweet *** time.

meanwhile i went to my doctor and got x-rays all over my body
and was informed that i had no problems.
He told me that since i was sitting in the car not knowing
the car was coming at me that my body didnt have the time to
counter-react to the impact. Meaning if i had seen the car coming
and tried to "fight" the impact then i would be in bad shape.

thank god

How in the hell did the beemer only get scuffed? That really sucks. Can someone explain that to me? Was it a suv? I can't imagine that a regular beemer wouldn't get damaged.
Damn I feel for you. See this is the stuff that scares me. I hope this doesn't happen to me. Couldn't you get it totaled if possible and get an another one? I hope things work out for you.

had some scuffs on the bumper and hood... wtf!!!!
the body shop told me that i would have to get a new suspension
and an alignment AND a bumper plus new airbags.

What does it do when you file a "diminished value claim"?

Hey, nice of you to do that. Most people would of said oh **** or something and never would try to follow the car. Did she give you an award not that it matters but just curious?

What does she do? She pulls away, drives down to another level and parks! What she did not see is that I saw her, and raced down the stairs to watch her park on the lower level. I call the police, explain the event and show the damage to both vehicles. They take my statement (and my driver’s license information, although I asked to stay out of it). About one week later I receive a letter in the mail. It was the woman whose car had been hit. She wrote to thank me as the car was brand-new, and it was her birthday the day she was hit. She was surprised that someone had taken the time to chase down the other vehicle and file a report, because in today's world people do not care. Anyway, it made her day as the other woman was held accountable versus the hit and run it initially was.

I am following this thread as the cost of repair, and the extent of the damage will be interesting not only for us, but for the insurance industry.

Yes, but I mailed it back with "VOID" written across it, and a thank you note, as it was no trouble on my part; I hope someone does the same if it ever happens to me.

Socal - great story. I was in a similar situation but on the receving end. Driving down a busy street (3 lane road), some lady cuts in front of me (she prob didn't see me in the blind spot). In order to avoid getting hit, I veer to the right to avoid getting hit but of course, I end up hitting someone else. Luckily an off duty cop saw this whole thing happen and chase down the lady who cut me off. To make the long story short, her insurance covered both cars and I sent the off duty officer a nice gift. Good to know there are nice kind people in the world :D

I dont know what your state laws are, but usually if the damges is equal to or more than 70%. The car will be totalled. I work in a shop. By the sound of the hit. This is without seeing photos, but I bet the cost of repairs are over and above $10,000. Air bags arent cheap and often cost 3,000 to 5,000. Also the suspension issue doesnt sound good. Which is leading me to believe that the rear body panels, Floor, Frame, and maybe even quarter panels are all damged. May even need replacement. Also the Estimating programs do not have the 370Z yet. None of mine do Shoplink, and Ultramate. Hopefully by the next update which will be in soon will have it. Thats a real problem with brand new cars sometimes. I hope everything works out for you. Kind of sounds like a problematic deal the moment though. Good Luck

finally some real good newS!

Since the car was brand new, all the parts were on back-order.
But finally got news from my shop that the parts are coming in
this thursday and the car should be ready by this weekend!
The real good news was that my mechanic told me that if the
car doesnt drive right after the repairs, i can take it back to the
shop and they could take a look at it again. But if they cant see
the problem the insurance company will have to buy back my car
and i could exchange it for a new one.

lol i am having the "waiting for the Z is almost unbearable" moment
all over again.

Glad to hear you're finally getting some good news on this. Are they installing your JWT intakes as well?
