Z here, there, everywhere

i'm starting to see a Z every two days now. last year I'd only seen 1. last two months, i've seen like one a week. now i've seen one every few days.

man, it's not special any more. I see a 350Z almost everyday. by the end of summer, i'm sure i will see one 370Z every day.

I hope Z won't become like Mustangs, they litter the roads everywhere.

USAFstevo 05-18-2010 02:16 AM

I would be so depressed if there were as many Z's around as mustangs there are literally 7 mustangs in our squadrons small parking lot right now as well as a few camaros starting to apear

gauchowr 05-18-2010 02:39 AM

Yeah I saw a white 370z today. I am seeing them pop up. =l

We don't drive Aston Martins, we drive Nissans. Of course we're going to see them start popping up, they'll be out nearly 2 years soon.

That said, the 370z will never make it to "mustang status", where there are 7 in every parking lot you visit. The 350z are starting to sprout quite a bit now, considering a used one can drop into the 4 digit price range these days, and even those aren't even close to "mustang status".

To this day, I've only seen 1 other 370z in my area, and that was another member of our forum. I've seen 2 during road trips in other states.

Considering they've been on sale for over a year and guess it is only a matter of time until the saturation of Z's in your area is such that you notice so many. Of course the fact that you are more aware of the Z because you own one can skew the perception too. At least it is not at the level of Altimas.

Right now the Z is the light of the asian market. Without viable Z sales. We can forget about the Rx7 or Ft-86, etc etc... so its important the Z sells in order for other companies to want to create competitive cars. As a former RX7 owner. I am praying for the 2012 mazda rx7. And I am dying to see the Z and rx back on the track dukin it out.(even though I may be the Z owner this time) The Rx8 was a disappointment to us rx7 owners.... I know if the Z fails? The likelyhood of these carscoming here are grim
I don't know about you guys? But I love all sports cars. I respect the hobby and love a little friendly "RESPECTFUL" competition between the sports cars. The Z is the japanese mustang. Not by volume, but by heritage. They gotta sell decent numbers to keep the whole industry viable as a market.

Don't expect to be the only Z in your city lol. Its bound to happen. Like its been said, it won't hit "mustang status", but you will see more of them. The price of the Z alone will keep it from hitting the numbers that the mustang does. I've seen more Camaros than I have Z's in Dallas...Hell, I've seen more Mercedes SL's than Z's lol.

Bro... have you noticed the amount of camaros in dallas-fort worth area? My god! For it being ford country... there are so many camaros in the area you would think they have been out 5 model years. GM is just making wayyyy too many. The camaro is a nice car with real distinct lines. 40,000 nationally would make it an icon without overproduction. And the V6 is a waste of time. I know its ythe bread and butter but it helps devalue the camaro.

Jeffblue 05-18-2010 07:19 AM

once you have cars with different engine sizes (camaro/mustang) thats when you start to see a million of them, since they try to cater to everyone. the Z only has one displacement, the rest is trim/bodystyle. there will never be as many Z's as camaros/mustangs

SiXK 05-18-2010 08:29 AM

I hardly ever see them and I live in Orlando, where you would expect there are quite a few.

It will never be a 'special' car in terms of numbers. It is a mass-produced, mass-marketed car. Granted its the bottom end of that spectrum with its sales numbers but if you expect to be elite, keep shopping.

However, take solace in the fact that the Camaro has already sold more in numbers (I am presuming since they are everywhere), there are more mustangs on the road than cigarette butts, and corvettes number in the billions.

The 370Z is nowhere near elite, but its the most elite of the readily available sports cars right now.

Camaros seem to be a hit among the military douchebag crowd now, Just moved to Ft. Sill, i've seen about 4 other 370's, which is actually more than I seen at Ft. Bliss which is in El Paso, a city 8 times larger than the town im in now, which kinda befuddles me... Yeah, really happy I didnt get that Camaro when I had the chance..
