5'8, 165 lbs. The seat isn't the most uncomfortable thing I've ever sat in (Nismo seat, if there's any difference), it just isn't as comfy as my SUV after a 6 hour drive.

just had my first long trip in the z this past weekend down to SC which was a 10hr trip for me. I was very surprised how comfortable it was my arse didnt get tired until 7hrs deep. Surprisingly it was way more comfortable than my 2dr accord, both are leather seats, which became uncomfortable after about 4hrs. Im 5'9" 145lbs.

I did Dallas to Fredericksburg down 281 last weekend (Here) and from a comfort standpoint, it was just fine. At 6'4" - 250, I'm a big guy, but was pretty comfortable the whole way.

What was a big draw back was the road noise on some of the lesser highway pavements. I realize I can probably help solve this with some different tires (Hankook v12 evos seems to have a good rep for performance and ride balance) and sticking to more major highways, but it was really loud over some of that rougher pavement out in the country. With the wife in tow, it will be the road noise that is the limiting factor, not comfort.

ha, I practically drove completely across the country fellas, from El Paso, TX, which is the furthest west you can get in Texas, to Columbus, OH, 1200 mile trip, drove straight through (16 hours) there and back to Oklahoma, covering over 2000 miles overall. The seats after about 8 hours start to get a bit uncomfortable, fixed with a few changes of position though, I love the knee pads, when i'm cruising on the highway, cruise control goes on, knees go up, chill mode begins. I'll agree though, its a fun little car to take on an extended trip, only part I hated was having to get all the dead bugs off the fascia after the drive!

Not trying to be funny but it sounds like the seats may be more comfortable for those of us on the smaller side.

Not IMO either, took it to Houston twice and LA once to show some family members and it took its toll on my back and butt and the road noise ouhhh wee. I let the window down as I would rather hear wind, I take the Max or my wifes G for longer trips now a days.

yeah, it definitely sucks not having lumbar support, i had to put a little memory foam pillow against my lower back for the drive.

I don't consider this car as a GT.

Two things would have to change in my mind...

1. sound deadening
2. Taller final gear, my mates V8 muscle has a top gear that allows for under 2k rpm at 65mph... now that's cruising...

I've done a couple of 2.5 hr drives in the car, on the wrong type of road seal it's horrible, on the smooth stuff the car's awesome. On Australian hwy's i don't think I could do 3hrs + in the car... For those with ultra smooth roads, I imagine you could drive for ever in this car.

Yeah I agree, that a taller final gear would be sweet. Esp since most of the times I drive mine it is highway. I wouldn't mind a 6th gear that dropped my rpms down to 2k! I could make due with 1-5 for normal city driving and 6th for lockin' in on the highway.

I find the Z pretty comfy on long hauls. It's got plenty of space for a weekend away and is just good fun! Helps to stop and stretch your legs every now and then, but it's not bad!

Sound deadening would make all the difference in the world.
