I'm a much larger guy than most of you, weight-wise, and I'm very comfortable in the Z.
I drove it from Shrewsbury, PA to Baltimore (1.5 hr drive, so not a huge journey), and I loved every second of it. Other people have told me that it's a cramped interior, but I disagree. Of course, I grew up driving small sports cars. Compared to a Fiat Spider, Pontiac Fiero, or Mazda Miata, this thing is very spacious. That's one of the reasons I bought it over a new Miata. Some complain about its "girth", but that's what I love. Much shoulder room, high performance. |

I'm in the market for Z... and at 6'2" and 250, I'm getting a little worried! :-) Glad to see at least one other big guy say the seats are comfy.....
Going to go see koeppelNissan sometime soon to try out for myself. |

I have the materials sitting in my garage and sound deadening is the next project on my list; out comes the interior. I have fairly severe tinnitus (old rock and roll drummer) and don't want to make it worse. The noise really is the only thing I don't like about this car so I'm going to correct the issue as much as I can.
I bought a new Maxima in 1995 but sold it less than a year later because it made my back hurt so bad (had a back injury in 1983). I sat in a Z in the early 2000's and felt like it was going to be just as bad so I passed. This time when I went to the dealer I said "I want to sit in that car for at least 30 minutes" which I did and was surprised it was okay. I've done one 5 hour stint in the car and though I had to twist and turn a couple times it was for the most part just fine. I'm 5' 10" 165 lbs.

My dad and I just did a 10 hour drive to Knoxville, TN...drove the dragon the next day...then drove back home the third. Our backs were KILLING us! Otherwise an awesome time...and I'd do it again in the Z

I'm 6'3" and 230 and find my roadster with the touring seats very comfortable. The only trouble I have is doubling up my legs enough to get my feet smoothly through the door but that's probably more a matter of old age than the car. As for the comments about the harsh ride, I guess it depends on what you are used to. My last two cars were a Mazda Speed3 and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and the 370z certainly rides more smoothly than either of those.

On Wednesday I drove from NYC to R.I. to Boston & back in a day. About 7+ hours, but not all in one stage. I stayed off the highways on the way over, but did turnpike on the way home. For some reason it was "cop day" and I saw 14 cops on the way to Rhode Island. Hard to really let the car out in those conditions, but it was still a fun drive on curvy roads.
At the end of the day, I was pretty tired, but found the touring seat very comfortable. A little less supportive than the seats in my daughter's Audi TT. The Z has a longer wheelbase, which means the ride is actually quite good, even on the cratered highways of New England after this winter. By contrast, the Audi hobby-horses along, and is actually more tiring, IMHO. Of course the Audi is far quieter, but the Z makes good kinds of noises, so no bother. I'd do it again (and will be doing it frequently this summer). Not a bad trip car at all! BTW, 5'10" 195lbs, touring seats. |

So I sat in my first 370z yesterday and even went for a test drive... Touring, Sport, with Nav, and AT. My 250lbs isn't all gut related... lol. I crossfit and have a lot in my shoulders/lats. The spine of my back didn't feel like it was hitting the back of the seat at all... because those shoulders bolsters or whatever you call them just kind of grabbing my lats and pinching them up. Very uncomfortable. :-(
The bottom of the seat/legs/butt, etc. were absolutely fantastic. Similar to what my old '96 Corvette had, and I used to drive that 12/14 hours straight from Chicago to NY all the time. Has anyone had experience with the upper part of the seat by your shoulder blades relaxing and softening a bit?? Would hate to buy a new car just to put in new seats right away. |

Is there a section on replacement seats for comfort vice performance? How do you join words in a forum search, like replacement and seats, or comfort and seats? How about butt implants, or a prosthetic ***...Which is cheaper? New seats or 10 pounds of collagen mixed with a quart of botox? Err is that an aftermarket idea? |
