That K20Z3 engine will run for a looong time if you take care of it properly.
10k miles is nothing if you've changed the oil, etc. I had a 2008 Civic Si before my Z, (and I also had a 2002 Si) and reliability was incredible. Honda engines are as close to bulletproof as you can get, imo. |

Thank you I had the 1zz_fe engine before this which was great too! But I know hondas run for ever and I usually change my oil at around 50% 30% LOWEST

This is really a silly question.
You should know that the "average" annual mileage for a daily driven car is about 12,000 miles. You are WELL under that average and, if you perform proper maintenance, you should expect your vehicle to last a LONG time. Maintenance is key. It doesn't really how many miles you put on a car, it matters how well you take care of it. Obviously some cars are more prone to failing before others. It's the makes that are built to very close manufacturing tolerances and high quality standards that can generally be expected to last the longest, but that's not to say an old piece of junk 1980 GM vehicle couldn't go for a million miles with the proper maintenance.

You have problems if you are worried about 10k miles on a 2006 model year vehicle.

Makes sense.
Even then, 100k with proper maintenance (especially on a Honda) is nothing to worry about.

With how well engines are built today, it is other items on the car you have to worry about now before the engine.*
*If proper maintenance is done to the engine.

He probably meant 100K miles. But for most japanese cars that is not that bad.

For any car that shouldn't be bad.

I guess his question is: 100K in 4 years is good?
BTW, some cars especailly GM at 75K they are already falling apart.

Engines like the 3800 Series II V6 found in many late 90s/early 2000s GMs are practically bulletproof if you take care of them. The only things you have to worry about obviously are accessory parts that won't last for the life of the major components regardless of the manufacturer. Anyways, 100k in 4 years isn't really a big deal. Yeah, 25k per year is well above the average, but again, assuming proper maintenance and care it's absolutely fine.
