Mystery (solved!) : Interior mood lights suddenly appear
Update: I dug around and discovered my car has the Cube's mood lighting installed. The control dial for it looks like it was shoved underneath the dash, but must have fallen at some point and was sitting under the passenger-side floor mat. My gf's feet must have been turning the thing on and off last night. Party in my car!!! Thanks for the help, all.
I was driving to dinner with my girl tonight when interior mood lights suddenly started flashing in the foot wells and in the center cup holder of my Z! The weird part is I don't know why they started flashing all of the sudden, and I certainly didn't install them (although I bought the car used with 2k miles on it, so perhaps the previous owner installed them.) The colors were changing from red to green to blue to white, but when we got back in the car after dinner, the lights stayed dark for about 5 mins when they just went all white. Any ideas how I can control this? They seem to have a mind of their own, and I don't see a switch anywhere. Help! Last edited by tettes; 05-15-2010 at 06:58 PM. |

I know this sounds like a joke, but it's not!
The only other detail I left out was I was in a part of town where I had to use valet parking today, so maybe the valet hit a switch or something to turn it on? I just don't know where it is. Believe me, I was trippin' when it started happening. |

As you have an 09, you don't have heated seats.
So the buttons on your mid console (next to your cup holder) should be unused. If they installed something, biggest chance is that they put the button in there.
