Do you know the past member's name here that you bought your Z from (if they were a member here)? There was someone who was interested in adding lights to the cup holder, but that was some time back.

I bought the car from a dealer, so unfortunately I'm not sure who the previous owner was.

I'm not good at fiddling with the electronics in my car, but I'll poke around and see if I can disable the thing somehow.

Yeah, all of those buttons are disabled on mine. I'm gonna take blue660r01's advice now that it's light outside and check wiring, fuses, etc.

honestly, i do think it's kind of cool. i was just confused as to why it was turning on and off seemingly on its own, but now that i found the controller, problem solved!
