...I just stumbled on this piece of inspired design by chance. My God, I'd love this to be a Z car in the near future. Why isn't this the 370z?

The rear looks very "911-ish". I'm not really a fan of the whole retro look on the front end. (ie. the new mustangs, challenger, etc...).
I love the way the 370z turned out. Just my opinion. |

Wow, cool find! Very interesting concept design. The front looks a little disproportionately long (looking at the side view on the link you posted), but still, it's very cool looking. I like how the tailpipes are done. Although if Nissan actually did that, everyone would accuse them of just copying the Cayman.

Old Datsun Concept. BTW What the hell happened to all the old Datsun Z concept pics?? Google image search use to be full of them, now they are all gone. Weird. |

I think that'd be cool to do to a 70's 240, but I like the new design a bit more.
HOWEVER, this is freaking awesome:

You converted your 2+2 to turbo? As far as I know, there were no U.S. 300zx's with 2+2 AND turbo.

Nice concepts, but too rétro and I'm happy for the final version of the 370z. I would have been happier if they managed to keep the weight even lower, but I think they are right when they say "we didn't want to make a new 350z, we wanted to make it better".

I like the rear view, and some of the design of the front, but not digging that profile. overall I like the 370 design better, but with some work that one could be good.
