Please comment on my jackstand setup
I put the Z on jack stands tonight as per these pics and it seems rock solid; it doesn't waggle or budge at all when I push on it. I'd appreciate any comments about flaws or dangers I'm overlooking in the setup.
Thanks. Bruce I put a thick piece of rubber between the top of each jack stand and the undersise pressure point. Front close up. Rear close up.

The best place to place the jack stands are on the pinch rails. Buy jack stand pads so the pinch rails don't get damaged. Build a wooden ramp so floor jack fits under the car.
You should come to the local z meets, we had one last saturday.

hmmm... I'm pretty cautious when it comes to lifting the car. If i can get away with just ramps I do that; however, if i need to put up all four I used the jack mentioned in the second post. When I'm working under a specific part of the car, I have floor jack pushed up to the point in case on of the jacks fails.
Call me paranoid, but I live in California, and the last place i'd want to be during an earthquake is under my car because on the jacks wobbled loose.

Jack Stands with the adjustment pins are dangerous. I would never trust my life to that small pin just waiting to shear. Once it does reach a failure point, you'll have no warning with it breaks.

Are those aluminum stands? For some reason those just don't look safe to me... I've always used similar jack stands AZN370z has posted above, I would feel much safer using them.

Okay okay okay I get the point; I am convinced it would be a bad idea to get under the car with those stands.
Grrrrrr they weren't cheap but at 54yo it's definitely not the first time I've thrown money away and almost certainly will not be the last. Craigslist here they come I had my doubts about the single pin when I bought them from Northern Tool I guess the looks got the better of my judgement. Torin Aluminum Race Jack Stands — 3-Ton, Model# T43004 | Jack Stands | Northern Tool + Equipment I'm glad I posted for feedback because that's what I wanted, maybe I haven't lost all my common sense. I really do appreciate the comments because in the end all I want to do is complete my cbe install without a hitch. Bruce
