A true sports car like the Z needs to be a MT. I test drove a 7at just to see what the ride was like and all I can say is yawnnnnn. An Auto is an Auto there is a computer always there second guessing you. The downshifts lagged and it just felt like a good old SlushBox

I was faced with this dilemna 10 years ago...I did not make that same mistake this time around with my Z. Its too late for you to get the 6 speed without getting hanmered money wise! Do as others have mentioned and ride it out for a little longer until your depreciation/debt level out somewhat. The again.... 2012 IS around the corner

It's nearly instant. I drive it every day. Now in auto mode of course it at times will lag big time, as any auto will do. eg. when you jump on the throttle, it hesitates for a second before the downshift. But in manual mode, there is no lag, you hit the paddle and it shifts, or you punch the throttle and your head snaps back (assuming you're in a good spot on the torque curve/correct gear), unless it senses the gear will put you outside of an allowable rpm.

Well I'm sure you know more the I do seeing is you drive one and well I have been waiting for mine since 4/20... But maybe I'm just use to the direct feeling of a stick. So the auto is faster in the quarter and 0-60 right?? has anyone with an Auto raced a MT from like a 30 40 roll? wonder who would win. |
