Girlfriend had an 06 for almost 4 years and aside from oil changes never had any issues with maintance or repairs. Great car and not as poorly built as people think.

good to hear. Ive always wanted to test drive one just to see how they are, might have to just for the fun of it. With the front end being so long how is visibility in the front?

I track my cars, but the corvette just never really did it for me on the track. I loved the car, and had it for almost a whole year after I got the Z, but I finally decided to sell it because there was no reason to have two non-daily drivers and 4 cars between just my wife and me. Both are awesome cars, but I feel the Z is a little more challenging on the track than the C6 and I just like it better right now.

If you are on corvetteforum, you may be familiar with me as the powdercoater known as 'corvette pilot'

If you have had your Z06 for a while, I don't think you will be disappointed with a switch. Change is good.
Hi Mike,
I'm a member of CF & am familiar with your work....your reputation there speaks for itself.

I believe you & I were the only ones there with the OZ Superlegerra's....

Visibility was fine for me and I'm only 5'8. Also the front isn't too low. Actually compared to my sports pkg Z it actually sat up a little higher. Meaning the front lip was higher off the ground compared to the sports pkg tire diffusers in the front.

Overall a great car, just not as nimble as the Z. Driving on auto-x it felt forced where as the Z was like butter. However on anything but small tight turns the car was amazing. Needed a bit more traction but that had a lot to do with the stock run flats

Not mine. Just routine fluid changes.

I had an '06 C6 Z06. Impressive performance, but just too fast for normal roads...can't really enjoy it. Run it up through second gear and you're going nearly 90 mph. Keeping my foot out of it took the restraint of a saint.

Plus, Corvettes in general don't have a lot of road feel, especially at low speeds. Puttering around in them is a bit boring. But, if you have the right area to run them, they do perform.

Yeah. Vettes are built fairly well. Dad has one and loves it.

They also can be run into the ground if well-maintained.

I've never had people stop and stare at me in a Vette (daily in my 370Z).

I've never had someone whip out the camcorder/cellphone and VIDEO me driving down the road or parking lot (happened twice in my 370Z).

I've never had the ladies argue over who gets to go for a ride next (stopped counting).

Even my father, who has owned to many Vettes over the years loves driving my car. He has commented numerous times about the excellent build quality, the power, seating position, gauge layout, etc. I think he'll buy one next.

Thanks for the welcome Mike.

The dealership has a 370Z demo....not sure which style it is. Will there be a major difference between the base sport, touring? I know the Nismo is a tiny bit faster and somewhat stiffer.

I'm taking it to some of my favorite roads tomorrow on an extended test drive.I'm looking for the 370 to be a scalpel as opposed to the Z06's cleaver.

If all goes well,I'll pick up the new Nismo late tomorrow. It's at a sister dealership 125 miles away & they will bring it when I return with a big grin plastered on my face.

Stiffer, yes, but the NISMO is not really faster than the other models. Nothing measurable, anyways.

If you want some luxury, I'd stick get a Touring + Sport for the leather heated seats, bluetooth, etc.

Otherwise the NISMO is pretty sweet if you're into that, but it is a little bare bones on the interior.
