I've been using Corvettes as my DD for over ten years & just ready for a change.

Any and all experiences or opinions are welcome.

Edit: of course I meant "to a" in the thread title.....

i am thinking of going from the 370z nismo to a 2013 corvette when it comes out -- supposedly it's going to have a redesigned body

Be prepared to give up a ton of carrying capacity. But also be prepared for something that's much better-built than a 10-yr old Vette.

Never really bonded with the Vette. The Z is a much more intimate, driver's car. Quality is higher, and I really don't miss my 470 HP which you really can't use on the street anyway.
I had to try the Vette...Did for a year and a half....Won't go back.

I went from a 2004 C5 to my Nismo and haven't looked back. The Vette was just starting to feel bulky and I like the nimbleness of the Z.

I did went from a c5 to a 350z then to a 370z
To me the 370 can almost stand toe to toe with the c6 vette
in the looks department. handling the 370 won't take a back
seat either. the 370 might even ride better i know it does over
the c5. imo the price difference makes the z a better bargain.

Well I didn't go from a vette to a 370 but close. I had two camaros. One wa my daily driver and the other was a drag car. My drag car had a forged 408 with an aps tt on it full cage, suspension, rearend, tranny etc. That I sold to a guy from bmr. And my other camaro was a stock ls1 with an ms4 cam and heads.

I loved em both but was ready for a change. The 370 for me is a little down on power compared to my camaros but the fit and finish is far superior and the handling is much better! Another guy I work with had 11 vettes in his collection and just sold his last one and he is buying a 40th anniversary 370z we have at our dealership. He said the same thing as I about the power, fit and finish and handling.

My brother has an ls3 c6 with the z51 package. The vette is very stiff, and he commented that the ride in the 370z was much smoother. I think it really is "just right". Whether or not suspension compliance really matters is a personal thing, but the Z is typically a better daily driver than the c6.

Some additional points to note:
C6 has much better visibility. It's like being in a bubble. The 370 has bad blind spots. Probably one of the worst I've ever been in.

Obviously in terms of straight line speed, it's no contest, especially compared to the ls3. A c5 (non z06) is closer.

Both cars are relatively noisy, but the 370z is a bit quieter (until you drive over loose dirt/gravel, then it sounds like your wheel wells are being sandblasted).

If you are getting factory nav, the vette is LAME (with a capital for all 4 letters!). The nissan unit is infinitely better.

OnStar is LAME too.

The Z's seats are fantastic.

I just noticed you are planning on a Nismo. In that case, the ride quality might not be so good. I would suggest test drving both the Nismo and a nicely loaded touring w/sport package. You may find the latter more appealing.

My dealer had told me that people were trading in Z06 vette and I thought he was just talking me up. Oh well I guess it does happen.

For the price of a C6 Z06, no interest in the Viper? Also, what are you interested in, because obviously the
370 will be a step down in power

you can get a vette for 42K right now. Pretty tempting but I hear they are high maintenance.

I went from a 2005 Viper to my 40th Anniversary Z. While I miss the power, the creature comforts of the Z are far superior. The Viper was an awesome engine in a sexy body, but I never loved it.
