i do mostly stop and go travel where i am. and i get about 18.5 mpg on the reader and by calculating it on fill-up. this past fill-up tho which was mostly all highway, i got about 23mpg on calc.
i gotta say, i cant complain about the gas mileage with this car. not as good as my 4 cylinder camry that i used to own, but SO much better then my infiniti suv that i drive about 3 or 4 days a week.

I just drove 600miles to and from a wedding this weekend, with the cruise set to 80-90 (with occasional passing at 100ish) I averaged 24.6 highway. Driving around miami I average 19-21. I am a bit more impressed than I expected to be with the gas mileage. I love my Z

to be honest, i'm actually very happy to see what most of you guys are able to get with the Z. Although i'm not getting these numbers, I'm just glad that the car can actually do better MPG than what I expect.
Keep this poll going! Thanks a lot everyone for sharing this useful information. |

I took my 2nd long road trip since I bought my Z last May. The only difference between the first trip was I had under 1100 miles on the car and traffic was heavy. My avg mpg was 22. I have to say I was disappointed. On this recent trip with 11,600 miles on the odometer at speeds between 75 - 90 100+ on ocassion I was able to avg 26.4. These engines definately do better after 10K miles.

I think if you're getting 22+ mpg in the city, you're driving it like a sissy. I don't fall below 4k RPMs unless I'm stopped.

A little under 21MPG is what I average with 50% Hwy/City driving. I shift at 2k RPM when oil temps are under 180 and at 3k RPM after it's warm, sometimes skipping gears (1,3,5,6).
I'm "heavy-footed" and drive at 80% of the car's limit where I can and "light-footed" in traffic. Last edited by ZzzZz; 07-21-2011 at 05:25 PM. |
