If you can't get dyno tuned, get the Cobb Access Port with competition tune preloaded. Shave some weight off the car while you're at it. I'm pretty sure you can do this for under $4k.

If you plan on force feeding the engine, then save up for a supercharger.

ditto.. cept id recommend the Injen intakes over the stillen due to fitment.

i think you should get a hood damper first. :D

Cost per HP gained: $191 / 1 HP gained
Cost per TQ gained: $235 / 1 ft-lb. gained

Unless you are adding on a blower or turbo which makes the intake and exhaust mods almost mandatory, the cost per HP/TQ gain FAR SURPASSES any gains to be made with redoing your exhaust. It's absurd and rediculous to spend these figures for such a diminutive return.

Save your money for something else.....

Aaand yeees? so?

getting anything like a turbo or supercharger is going to cost more than 4000. waaay more than 4000.

A boob shifter handle and a high end escort (and i'm not referring to a radar detector!) :icon23:

And you missed my entire point completely....I am perfectly aware that doing the blower or TT puts him way out of his money range that he is willing to spend at this moment but that in itself coupled with the outragious intake/exhaust ROI breakdown makes my case even more that the exhaust makeover just shouldn't be done since he would be paying far more than the power he would make out of doing it.

In simple math terms:

$4K costs him: $191 / 1 HP gained and $235 / 1 ft-lb. gained.
12K costs him: $ 70 / 1-HP gained and $ 80 / 1 ft-lb gained.

In addition by adding the blower or TT it would likely increase his asking price for the car if he were to sell it which could work in his favor if he is still upside-down in his loan he may have on the car at the time of selling it.

Adding just an exhaust isn't going to increase the value of the car in any way, shape or form nor contribute to providing any amount of offset advantage if he is upside-down in any loan he may have on the car at the time of the sell.

You can't argue with the hard numbers because it just plainly SCREAMS for itself that the exhaust makeover is a total rip-off unless he couples it with the blower or TT where then it can at least be dollar-justified by the big power to be gained.

All of these items stock are just fine for street driving, no need IMO unless you plan on tracking.

FI CBE=good gains and great sound
Stillen G3 (if gains stated are true)= good gains and nice sound

That should leave you about $2K for gas for having fun.

or use it for a down payment on the SC

This is probably the wrong thing to say as a vendor here...but I don't care...I'm a racer first ;)

Spend the money on track days, fuel, brake pads, and rubber....enjoy your car first the way it is...then once you really feel comfortable with your car, upgrade what you feel the car is lacking. (Oil cooler wouldn't help first though if you plan to do any aggressive driving)

This is quite refreshing to see a vendor making a statement that DOES NOT ACT to put someone elses money into his own vendor's pocket first.

I salute you, Scott, for having such integrity in this day and age where the vendor's think first only of themselves at the total expense of their customers.

Get the clear-bra first. Hen follow what Scott said. Nothing is worst than a nicked-up/bruised-up hood and bumper. After the clear bra, you should have a little bit over $3,000 to spend.

ZCarMan 05-08-2010 03:32 AM

1. Clearbra/Ventureshield
2. Exhaust
3. High Flow Cats
4. Cold Air Intakes
