Z + Jews = Win!
So I've had my Z for about 3 weeks now, and of course I've been going through the normal process of showing it to friends, letting them sit in it, etc. 2 of my friends that I've shown it to so far are Jewish. Each one of them upon climbing into my car took some change from their pockets and threw it on the floormat. Apparently some sort of Jewish tradition for wishing good luck or something.
Anyway...if I can track down a few more of my Jewish friends I might be able to get myself a Slurpee or something.

Haha very nice man I had so many people throw change in my car for goodluck that I actually ended up gathering it all and storing it elsewhere cuz all the clinking sounds of coins hitting each other when turning. I'll tell you this though it's certainly not limited to Jewish tradition.

Wikipedia is your friend.....although it doesn't say it's a Jewish tradition it's called Car Coining:
There is a practice in New Jersey and New York of tossing a few coins onto the floor of a newly purchased car as a sign of good luck. This practice originated as a practical one. Because of the area's many toll roads, many drivers would carry change in their cars. The friends and family of the new car owner would throw coins onto the floor of the new car so if the driver ever ran out of his own money, he could always reach down and find some extra money on the floor. Thar ya go!

Take note that so far the only people in this thread who have had this happen are in New York....just like the Wikipedia article said....New York & New Jersey. Makes it seem more legit, IMO.

yea, definitely a tradition I'm familiar with and thought it was done everywhere... I was annoyed with loose change in my brand new Z but then my friend/haircutter threw a $10 on the floor... that, I liked.
