Fat!!

I just noticed today topping off my tires that the label inside the door says the combined weight of passengers and cargo shouldn't exceed 450 pounds. Obviously, people exceed this on a regular basis, but I was wondering if anyone has any stories about overloading this monster.

For the record, I'd be willing to be I'm on the bigger side of 370Z owners - coming in at 6'4", 245. A golf buddy and a pair of bags will put us over this weight limit pretty easily.

I'm 6' and 300...at least I was when I bought it. I'm down to about 278 now.

Any driving issues you think might be related to overloading the car?

450 seems awfully low for a weight warning in a modern, mass produced automobile. I was really surprised to see that on the sticker.

It just a recommendation based on the factory spring rates. Nothing is going to break if you go over by a couple hundred pounds, just don't beat on it when overloaded.

Besides it's a Japanese car, they probably figured that 450 was the equivalent of 4 people.

why lower the car on eibach's when you can just get a buddy and some bags and you're good to go!

None.

My Honda motorcycle is rated for 450lbs. Adding the wife and a fair amount of gear, and we're over that. Never had a problem with the bike and how it handles...

They probably figured 200lbs x2 + 50lbs in the back.

For Japanese, it's more like 150x2 + 150 in the back...an impossible number!
