I was always taught to tap your brakes/flash your brake lights to let the person know they're too close. But certainly don't slam on your brakes...unless you're looking to get rear-ended.
The other option is to just switch lanes. Either way, I don't play games on the road with my car. I definitely don't try to piss the driver off...sounds like a recipe for disaster. If the person doesn't know it's not ok to tailgate, you're certainly not going to teach them that lesson in that moment, imo. |
