What would you do if you were being tailgated?

Well..... first I empty a clip form my 9mm in the air out the window. Seriously I just maintain and they usually back off.

A coworker of mine (high up manager actually) slammed on the brakes when someone was tailgating her. The car swerved and rubbed a wall. My coworker was arrested at work. It's all fun and games until you're in jail.

I usually just move over or maintain my speed (if I'm doing the speed limit and I can't move over). It's not worth risking ticking someone off and having them go all road rage on your ***.

Either way, I don't play games on the road with my car. I definitely don't try to piss the driver off...sounds like a recipe for disaster. If the person doesn't know it's not ok to tailgate, you're certainly not going to teach them that lesson in that moment, imo.

Some idiot tailgated me and I slammed on the brakes once when i was younger and i could tell the driver was really panicking. Eventhough he was a jerk but i felt sorry for him. Since then i swear i would never do that again.

now i just maintain speed and let the person pass me.

I am sorry I do not buy that story one bit. Something else must have been going on there. Like someone has said, they cant prove you were not avoiding an animal. It is perfectly legal to hit your brakes for that reason. Make sure to mention that you believed hitting the animal would cause you to swerve and get into an accident. This is why the 2 second distance rule is in place.

In Australia the following driver is responsible for keeping enough distance from you so that if you stop, for any reason, they won't hit you. It's always their fault if they hit you. Of course this rule doesn't apply if you cut into their lane or what have you.

Sometimes I wish I had a old bomb with a massive towbar so that I could teach people lessons.

Where is the "Keep slowing down until they pissed off and pass you" option?

The only thing you can do when someone is tailgating/ driving like an idiot, is to stay in your lane and not try to "drive around" said idiot. Although i wish in the states when you have your left turn signal on in the fast lane ppl would realize that they should get out of your way.

I throw a full coke can at them.

Normally I start slowing down to piss them off or tap the brakes.

In belgium you are NEVER in fault if you do that unless you smash them while changing lanes.

A friend's uncle got himself a new rear bumper with that trick.

I'd give them the New Jersey salute... The finger, and slow down until they passed. I've been known to chase after people too, the front bumper of my truck was peppered with rock chips from getting on people. To afraid to mess up my Zs paint now. I get epic road rage
