If you've got the extra money, go for it. I drove without it on for about a month and then I finally turned it on to see what the fuss was all about. Haven't turned it off since.

I say it creates bad habits, especially if you move to a car without the feature in the future or have to drive someone elses, but thats just me.

My reply was directed to the OP. I didn't even read what others had to say.

Don't get me wrong but I love technology as much as some of you pups. However, I'm more of a purist when it comes to driving. No SRM, off with the VDC, drive it like you stole it on occasion and sometimes let the rev limiter do its thing for me. To answer your question OP, imho, no.

If you want to learn to drive a sports car, the synchorev is unecessary. If you want the car to drive itself, get a limo and hire a driver! I don't understand the desire to take the skill out of the equation. I suppose the same argument could be used against power steering though, so its a matter of preference. I chose not to purchase the syncho rev feature and save myself a few K, but I understand its appeal. At that point though, you might as well go automatic and get the paddle shifters and just sport shift.

Meh. I love to heel toe, but if you're looking at an hour+ in stop-go-to 50-stop-go traffic it's too much work so use the SR. No harm in that. Not necessary but certainly less lazy than an AT.

I think you're overreaching a little here. There's still a lot more skill to driving a manual even with the SRM feature.

True, you still have to pick your shift points, but why not just get the automatic with the paddle shifters? Its a grey line that separates pilot from autopilot, and we each make the differentiation at different places. To me its just a little too far on the computer-controlled side of the equation.

Let me add, the 370Z is a totally badass car with or without SRM. I wouldn't turn one down with SRM in it, just prefer to heel toe/double-clutch the old-school way

If its such a big deal, just get the sports package and be done with it. Not like its permanently enabled. Just hit the button and heel-toe to your heart's desire..

Just get the Sport package. The rims, brakes, spoiler, and LSD are all worth the price difference. Would you rather get a base and question whether you want SRM, or would you rather have SRM and be able to turn it off as needed? Find a dealer that has a Sport model on the lot and make an offer.
