What Happens When Your Intelligent Key Malfunctions ??
As the topic says, what happens when such an event occurs? Are you left screwed and abandoned because you can't get in and start the car? Like, how can you tell if the battery is running low?
It would REALLY suck if this would happen while you're out and about. |

Those "pit pass wand things" that are used at the gas pump!
Don't put it on your key ring or near the Intelligent Key, it causes interference. Your car may not start!

When Nissan/Infiniti first started using the Intelligent Key, they had to recall them because cellphones would wipe out the internal memory rendering the key useless. So they put in a warning asking owners to keep cellphones and Intelligent Key away from each other.

There is an actual key in the fob.

^^ Yeah I know about the key in the fob or whatever you call it. But the problem is that the car has no key ignition.....sooooo what do you do? You can call the dealership to have them order a new one or fix the one you have, I'm sure. BUT...there's another problem..lol. How are you going to get to the dealer if you can't start your car ?????

ok, use the key to open the door
and then just sit there........lol ok ok.........there should be a special slot to insert the fob in the car and i dunno how it works, but the car should be able to start and away you go, once the car starts...you're good to go...........you can even drive around the block and leave the fob in ur house (well, after you use it to start the car)..........the car will not stall or shut down if it doesn't senses the fob anymore |

WOW, are you serious?? I sure hope they improved on their technology for the 370. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of not having to use a key, but that thing better be reliable or else Nissan will see a lot of unhappy customers, I'm sure. |

I will take a pic of it for you, it's just a slot above the hood release that the intelli key slips into when it doesn't have enough battery left. And as Educ8r said, there is an actual key inside the fob that can open the door.
