Odd thing...

Odd thing - generally when it's raining I don't drive my Z, because I hate cleaning it (Black Z, and I'm scratch-prone/OCD perfectionist)...however the other day, it'd been raining all day, and having had my Z sitting in the garage all winter and only driven it a few times so far this year, it'd collected quite a bit of dust....

Still rainy day + dusty Z = something to get me to clean my Z as I'd not want all those water spots...with me so far? (Yes, I'm odd like that...the rain spots would give me incentive to take care of it)

So I drove it quite a bit...it got quite wet of course...parked it in my garage. I opened the door this morning, and it's perfectly clean save for about 3-4 spots.

WTF.

Not that I'm complaining, but, I was not expecting that...so it's clean enough to where I'm not going to bother with it - lol...

Yep, I have not done my long day of cleaning on my car (wash/claybar/wax/etc.), but last year after doing a nice cleaning with wax it rained the next day and after the rain it was spotless. :)

Ya I've actually washed my car once, and the only the front bumper cause of bugs twice, just doesn't show the dirt and comes clean in rain

Definite win for a black Z, a good wax/sealant goes along way in paint upkeep.

Must be some REALLY good wax, as it was put on July of last year. Griot's, I think is what the detailer used.

I've just washed it using Zaino car wash solution a couple times, and even that was pretty dilluted.

Sadly, I have about $300 worth of Zaino waiting to be used, but as I'm so lazy, I've not used any of it...and I won't until I get a DA Polisher...lol

i use Griot's and it does repel water very well. like water will just bounce off the panels pretty much.

It was probably the acid rain of the midwest. You just resurfaced your car.

That was my thought, but I guess it'd rained enough that the dirt was already gone...it was also a light rain, not the Noah's Ark levels we sometimes get...

Haha, yeah.. We had a light drizzle all weekend which usually just leaves massive waters spots down the rear quarter-panels and everywhere else I suppose.. I just left her in the garage for the weekend

Finally settled down all that damn pollen too..

pauley 04-19-2010 11:05 AM

Got alot of pollen in Md right now and along rain makes a sad looking Z.
