most likely I'll get them.

Rev matching transmissions are nothing new. Companies like Ferrari, BMW, AUDI have been using them for a long time. Also, the Toyota MRS had a clutchless manual and also rev-matched for you!
Relax guys, I doubt Nissan's will be as sharp as the high end versions, but it will be entertaining. I will take a 6 manual transmission (with a clutch)... you know the old fashioned way! |

Heck, I'm just ecstatic you can even still GET a manual on a sports car. There are some cars, including the GTR, where it's not even an option. I'm only 28 and I'm sure I sound like an old f*rt when I ask when did a "standard" stop being standard???

haha, "stantard" stop being standard Even though many car enthusiast like to row their gear box, but I think Dual Clutch (or twin clutch) transmission will be in our future sport cars. They are extremely quick to shift and it make driving the car in the city very easy. You basically get the best of both world.

Sadly, no dealers here ever bring the manials versions of any cars, so unless I want to pay cash (which I dont have) and have one imported from the US, I'll have to "settle" for an auto. So yeah, Auto! Woo!

Nope. most dealers only bring over the autoversion. When the G37 coupe came out I BEGGED them to bring me over a manual and offered to pay more for it. they were like Nissan wont sell them to us, its not possible.
Whatever. Im glad they coudnt. The 370Z looks a thousand times meaner than the G37. I'll be one happy camper. |

The only reason I'm sticking with auto is because of the ridiculous amount of traffic I have to drive through. So in my case, the auto makes more sense, plus I wouldn't mind it at all. I just hope that it comes with a special mode where all you use is the paddle shifters. I couldn't tell by the pics alone, but having paddle shifters that allow you to shift a lil sooner without having a special mode for them would be retarted. Then again, why did they add the standard +/- part of the tranny if the paddle shifters are already there? I'm confused, anyone want to chime in?
Oh yea, in the press conference the guy was saying that the auto has been improved to be as close to manual as possible. Sounds too good to be true!

This thread is blasphemy I am pretty sure
If I had to drive through heavy traffic everyday I would buy a TSX or an Accord, not a sports car. Now I will say I have never driven a GTR or the like, but I am an old school kind of guy having only owned manual cars since I was 16 (about 10 years now), and being an enthusiast I feel that a driver should be able to properly drive and connect with a sports car. Again though, I can not judge as I have never driven a proper dual clutch auto or even an advanced auto like the IS-F and I assume 370Z auto, so I will reserve final judgment (other than to give you guys a hard time). |

^^ Sure, I'll skip buying a 370z and get a 332 hp Prius as per your advice (lol). But to let you know, I've had a 6spd manual 350, so it's not like I've never drive it before. But now I feel like it's time for a change. The rest is up to you, think whatever you want., feel free. =)
Anyway, I think I read up somewhere that there's a special mode for paddle shifters, unless they were referring to something else. I guess we'll wait and see.
