and holding the button in for a full second or two or more doesn't fix the hatch hell the belgian dealerships don't even have the service report on the hatch. |

The hatch problem is not an issue. If you have an 09 just tell the dealer of the TSB and they will replace the part. I just got my mine replaced on Saturday, it works fine now!
Also, the ECU noise(high pitched whine you hear when the car is on/moving) isn't experienced on ALL cars but again it's an 09 issue apparently. Let the dealer know and they will replace your ecu with a new one to fix the problem. I have an 09 and I personally do not have this problem, hope this helps! Yes, the paint is soft. It's not TERRIBLE but I would invest in a clear bra treatment if you are on highways a lot. I came from an 08 GTI which uses water based paint and that thing would flake and chip in a stiff breeze, so I have no issue with the Nissan paint, I still take good care of my paint though!

I noticed this too for the first time the other day - kinda happy about it because eventually I plan to change the color scheme on the car - not having to worry about the engine compartment makes it that much easier to change color. I do agree though that it seems like a cheap shortcut for such a nice car - does anyone know if they did this for the GT-R?

Motortrend has a video on Genesis v Mustang v 370z I think, if you want to compare the technical stuff, but other than that, you can probably find issues with the 370z's in a few of the complaints threads or that 2011 wishlist thread |

I bought a 2010 370Z Nismo ~ 40 days ago. I only have one problem: Obeying the posted speed limits.
Otherwise, this is by far one of the greatest vehicles I've ever driven... and I was 2nd in command at a Chevy Dealership for 6 years (owned by my dad). I've driven every Chevy, Olds & Cadillac produced from 1999 to 2005. I've driven BMWs, Audis, Ferraris and other cars i can't even remember. I even drove a Vette around the Indy 500 race track (twice) in 2002, after we won the contest in our area. I still prefer the 370Z. For the price, the 2010 370Z Nismo simply kicks arse. |

I'm VERY glad I held out for the Z, yeah it's more money but it's worth every penny and then some. I do wish the Z included a Brembo brake kit like the track package Genesis had though. :P

Buy what you like. The Z is pretty damn fine out of the box, so mods aren't really necessary to get great performance. Most common performance mods are cat-back exhaust, high-flow catalytic convertor & improved intake. This car responds well to these bolt-on mods. Most common other mods are cosmetic: wheels especially.
The Genesis coupe is a fine effort, but really needs some mods to up its performance. Overall, it is more practical, more storage space, and so forth. But really it has no performance heritage, no racing cred, and the buyer base is much more female (not a bad thing when it comes to insurance). If you really want a SPORTS car, the Z is the only choice in this price range, unless you buy a used Boxster, or Corvette or something. The Genesis coupe is more rounded, but won't deliver as well without mods if you have a real Jones for performance. HTH! |

Hyundai or Nissan... I think Nissan. Problems with the 370z is the constant noise coming from the hatch that about it.

My buddy bought a Genesis and had the dealership replace all the car badging from Hyundai to Sterling before he took ownership. Apparently in the middle east and in europe they sell the hyundai as sterlings, or some bs like that. The moral to the story, buy a car you dont have to rebadge, e.g. Z.

1" Holes on the front bumper underneath the license frame.
Front windshield and front bumper chips very easy. Soft paint, especially red color. Blind spots. Other than that great car!!!!!

Disclaimer: I love all cars, I'm not saying this because I'm a Nissan or anything.
The Genesis is not in the same class as the Z. It isn't even marketed against it, really. Quality, interior and performance wise it doesn't come very close. Subjectively, the rear styling looks awesome but the front needs some help. I considered it briefly but once I saw/felt one in person I just had to walk away. TST sums up what I think: Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8L V6 Review | The Smoking Tire
