I hope Nissan comes out with another straight six - an improved version of the RB26. Maybe something like the RB30 block from Australia with the RB26 heads for an amazing 3.0l turbo charged motor.

V8s are dying. Emissions will kill them and turbo chargers will be the last hold out for huge power as emisson restrictions continue. Then electric cars will take over once a suitable cost effective power storage solution is found. Electric cars will blow the doors off the combustion engines and take traction control to an all new level with powered AWD. No need for a differential. Its going to be the next level of automotive technology. Tuning your car will come down to software and how much current you want to draw from your power source and the capability of your ESC (electronic speed controller). Many will fear the change but its going to be crazy....

I think most cars makers are doing engine downsizing,to cut the greenhouse gases.

Coming off an LS1 that is what held me off the Z so far...thinking I just won't be as pleased with it at 332hp (which is 30 HP higher than my LS1) but I don't read about the power as much as I do about LS engines. Maybe a test drive is in order.

You will be dying for more torque. The Z has no bottom end at all, which is a HUGE shock if you are used to a V8.

How do you handle the loss of Torque? That is one thing that I think would be hard to get used to if you have driven a high torque V-8. This is what 'stang owners complain about when they drive the Z especially those with FI or those on the list for the 5.0.

It's tough, for sure. You are so used to instant throttle response even putting around at 1500 RPM, so it's a BIG shock when you move to a car that is as lethargic under 3000 RPM as our 370 is.

You are also (usually) not used to the extra 2,000 RPM so you find yourself short-shifting often. Basically you have to train yourself to the keep the revs up above 3000 and convince yourself that it's OK to wind it out in every gear, in fact, it's necessary if you actually want to get anywhere.
